Lee “Scratch” Perry, the monumental reggae singer, producer and studio wizard who pushed the boundaries of Jamaican music — and as a byproduct, rock, hip-hop and dance — with his explorations into dub, has died at the age of 85. Cause of death was unknown at press time.

One of my all time hero's gutted to hear he's gone. A genius of his time and well documented with the wealth of music he touched . Thank you for making my ears so happy Mr Perry My total respect.

 

Read this yesterday. Here's a great track he recently did with Randall Blythe of Lamb Of God. Fitting seeing as my bloodline actually founded Zion. My grandmother's uncle if I'm not mistaken. Rest in power Lee.
