Anyone remember this?

 

3:40 is what it was, actually. Most people will remember this.
But I wouldn't necessarily say it started 50-60 years ago, no.
Because some tunes in the 60's were still shorter.
60 years ago, we still had way shorter tunes. Just check.
It was Duke Ellington, way back, that helped bring the change initially, from like 2 mins, due to wanting to keep people dancing.
So nearly 50 years, yeah: By the early 70's it became a standard of 3:40.
Almost related with the times of the term "the old-grey whistle test".
But still, Bohemian Rhapsody, eh?

Cutting the rather sharp cheddar cheese in the store is not a real note but if yes Patrick mayonnaise can be considered an instrument then I don't know why we can't make an entire genre out this by next friday.

I actually want this to become a thing, I want everybody to just go forth and fart into intercoms at schools, offices, stores, gas stations even. Fuck it, just literally fart into anything that listens.

Break the system people, we can overturn this shit chugging music they force upon us in stores if just enough of us do this. Bring punk back, this is how you do it without mohawking yourself. Covert Punkism. It's in the dicctionary go look it up.

I wonder if I was deaf that I would worry about someone hearing the sound of my boner rising. But that's besides the point now go out there and fart to fucking 'Nam!

Here's another one. This one is painfully short but an extended version exists floating around.

 

I did that (farted into the PA system) while working in the deli department on Waldbaums on Queens Blvd in Forest Hills in 1977. We had an intercom to hawk things on sale like Mop Herring and Nova Lox. I got in trouble and was almost fired. If not for my ability to cut paper thin turkey breast for certain special customers I would have been gone daddy gone. In the evenings after the boss went home would smoke a joint in the cold locker with my buddy and we'd put the roach in the big 55 gallon kosher dill pickle barrel. Those were the days.
