I had a good laugh over the hour-long music thread. It´s always funny when someone has to reminisce the Medicci like it´s a good idea to handle everything to the rich because they know better. And while I enjoy long compositions when I please I also incline myself more to very short brusts of dopamine segregation in the form of highly emotional short compositions. So here one i fancy a lot. Please share the ones you fancy the most. We live in the Spotify era and short means more nowadays.

while i like this analogy, i would not put the 3:01 spotify spam bullshit into the discussion.

actually, you already have a problem when you accept ANY standards from outside.

so to a certain extent you should also not accept that a "concept album" has to be between between 35 and 70 minutes, you should always compose how you think it is fine, and not be inflluenced by distribution forms, marketing questions or conventions and expectations of third parties.

and when i say this i have to admit that "making a CD" is of course in my head, too, and it can also be a great help when it comes to workflow, deadlines, and all this.

p.s. i am not talking about pop music here, where it probably does not matter.

Being short, small and shallow is an undeniable feature of modern life. In modern life, there is no clear and great purpose.

If you've noticed, every big thing, thought, desire and outstanding features are being killed. The simple example was what most of you did in the other thread. We have been interested in everything being short, short and inefficient. What would such a mind have to express in the art form?

Why are we elusive of big, powerful and influential things? Why do we feel that we should ignore ourselves by shortening and suppressing our thoughts? Suppressed minds and concise thoughts, what can be offered other than a series of superficial and forgettable things...

 

We are not.

Why are you elusive of anything concrete to offer? Short form is better than your no-form.

Art is always conditioned by the zeitgeist in which it is produced and it´s impossible without. Now it is digital era, and art is produced between its bounduaries and there is nothing

in it. Only in the eyes of the ones who decide to percive it like that.

We are still influenced by the ones that proclaimed that "Art, because the artist says it´s art" whether you like it or not.
