Could you recommend any budget usb mixer similar to this one? This one gets warm very quickly and even gets on fire.
Or are any pros for a mixer without USB + audio interface?

With the three mixers mix 1202FX, mix 802 and mix 502 from the “the t.mix” series, Thomann shows that there are decent small mixers that offer everything you need to combine microphones, instruments and players with ease, even for a clear budget Mix. The mixers sound decent, deliver impressive levels at the output and headphones and are also robustly made. Except for a missing pre-fader monitor send, the mixers are astonishingly well equipped, the mix 1202FX even has a melodious effects section. So: three ideal companions for the rehearsal room, stage and all occasions where a little mix is appropriate.

@BEAT16 Really interesting mixers. Xmix is the only one with USB. MIX 1202fx is catching me the most. But I need an audio interface for it.

    Mackie VLZ. Any. Great.

I went 2nd hand with my mixer, because they don't make Soundtracs mixers any more. Never regretted it, but 2nd mixers usually need a bit of maintenance, so better be prepared to do that. So maybe try finding something good 2nd hand? Mackie or Soundcraft. I would recommend Mackie, though, especially VLZ ones. Really good. But you will need a USB interface. Maybe there are new small-form Mackies with USB? There probably are, but I'm old-school as you can tell. :)

I would stay away from cheap behringer mixers in any case. If you really want to buy one, avoid those with integrated audio interface: they are really bad

Older Xenyx mixers are actually good sounding, that's why agree with you Pipotron3000, but newer ones with USB are not - the USB AD/DA part, I mean. The problem is cheap USB converters and the AD/DA and the USB driver in general. Drivers are always the ones people don't think about when buying hardware, which is completely wrong line of thinking. Drivers are always the most important thing, just like in a car. That's why they are called drivers, I presume.

But really, those older small Xenyx mixers sound really interesting. I would buy one just to have it for "you never know", and I will. Additional submixer with a different colour on the cheap, why not?
