Nope, i clarified it. Bellow that reply is my additional reply. Go back and read and you will see i eventually figured out it was from the sister site.
I never scanned whatever i downloaded from the sister site in the past because i never had any problems ever.
Again, i did not say it has a virus, i said something is not alright, be at a virus or a buggy installer or whatever affecting.
Two other users confirmed to have found issues with the installer as well.
One had to do a new OS reinstall, the other mentioned it fucks up your Visual C++ libraries.
R2R mentioned several times some of his software was not properly cracked, that is if you ever read their NFOs you would know its not a new thing that some of the V.R software is poorly cracked.

I stand 100% behind my words and my intention of posting this warning.

I appreciate people who actually gave valuable info instead of trying to school people on how to use software.

Badly done installers need to be mentioned and people DESERVE to know something might affect their computer in a bad way.

Visual C++ libraries were definitely affected, my rapid storage software was unresponsive as well, desktop kept disappearing, so did the taskbar, sluggish, unresponsive, programs would not open, chrome was unresponsive, reset solved nothing, thankfully system restore worked and all the symptoms disappeared.

The problem in Windows 10 / Defender is - if you download something - it aborts the download and you have to turn off the Defender and then download again without Defender. If you then look it up on the Internet: "Program: Win32 / Wacapew.C! Ml" always gets these dangerous messages, then you ask the users here and they then say false alarms. Quite annoying and time consuming ...

WIndows defender is not the best AV. And i would also say, you are better off w/o using an AV. But this only my opinion.

better trust your sources and ofc always double check ...
if you dont know the source, never install it.

Everything is going very well and smoothly with Windows 10 and Defender. Except for the interruptions due to false positives - I then switch off Defender - it's done quickly! "You're better off without anti-virus software." Yes @ArcticStorm, I used to deal with closing ports / router firewall etc. There is currently no need to change anything.

All of it seems like VC related problems. Might look like a virus, but the only thing you need to do really is to just re-install Visual C.

The stuff about a V.R release deleting the VCRUNTIME140.dll for some people is old news. And it wasn't a thing that kills your PC and forces you to reinstall Windows from scratch either. This was discussed many months ago (not about Focusrite Fast Bundle). But even V.R's Fast Bundle was released 06/09/21. And it's funny that in 2 and a half months time since.. with 90 up-votes and 0 down-votes.. there is not a one single comment on the sister site beneath this release noting any issue at all. And the bulk of installations, votes, and comments in regard to any release on the sister site occur on the first day. Or, do you think none of those people installed it, and instead sat tight waited 2 and a half months for you to show up today and give them the heads up about it.. this "Warning"?

Put your ego aside. If this was something bad that happened to you months ago it wouldn't justify you calling it a warning "today".. because people "DESERVE to know" as you put it. If you perceive it as a warning you're giving it's because this happened to you not so long ago I'd hope. There is every indication that you installed it recently, and don't recall specifically where you downloaded it from. And no good indication that your problem was relative to the "2 and a half months and standing" release on the sister site. It's foul for you to blame V.R for this one, and act like the admin would just let some malicious shit sit on the sister site for several months without taking it down, rather than admit it was you that made a mistake.

It might have. I have experienced similar stuff where reinstalling drivers didnt solve issues, didnt want to risk or fool around so restore is usually the faster and more convenient way to solve big issues.

    LOL.
What mistake? What ego? How can you make a mistake installing software, what the actual f.... are you talking about, or are you blaming my computer?

"If this was something bad that happened to you months ago it wouldn't justify you calling it a warning "today".. because people "DESERVE to know" as you put it. If you perceive it as a warning you're giving it's because this happened to you not so long ago I'd hope. There is every indication that you installed it not too long ago"

    Gee, you think?
"Right after i installed it, it totally messed up my computer."

Makes sense that i would randomly start a conversation that happened months ago.

Some people have installed it right away, some havent yet and yes people DESERVE TO KNOW of potential fuck ups.

You sound emotionally stirred by my post for some reason, calm down please.
For the sake of the information and usefulness of this thread i suggest you stay with numbers and facts instead of trying to project your insecurities onto others.

The point is "you" installed it recently and the problem occurred right away for "you". Don't blame that shit on V.R or the sister site. Blame it on "you". People are quick as hell to install and speak on software released on the sister site. The fact V.R's Fast Bundle is still sitting on the sister site several months later with 90 upvotes/0 downvotes, all positive comments, and active links to download from means you need to figure out where else to point the finger. Shit gets taken down quick on the sister site if it's that problematic.. especially if something got posted that was doing something as bad as you described. That release wouldv'e been removed from the sister site within hours. I told you I even extracted the contents of the installers you can download from the sister site. There is nothing harmful inside those, period.

Oh really. How is it on ME?
Double click with a mouse, choose vst3, install. It either works without problems, which is 99,99% of time or it doesnt.
Man, just stop. I have been doing this for a long time, i know when something is not right.

its hard to say with stuff like this because there are so many variables, it makes it difficult to say really. Until at least a small percentage of all who dl started getting problems no reason to worry. these releases are consumed by thousands of people.

the ONLY time ive seen something similar was looong time ago when dl from some random place and the release was tampered with. but thats it.

ive seen hundreds of similar claims of a virus* from audio warez but its always been isolated experiences. among huge numbers who never had any kind of problem.

and btw, antivirus giving a positive is almost a rule, cr4cks trigger every rule in the book of an antivirus. so ensure its not something else that just happened to coincide

You dont Need Anti virus or any other BS unless, you are downloading samples from (Decibile and few others) and plugins only by these ppl (Air, R2R, RET, Audiotopia and Flare directly from sister site. You are good to go. If not you need every other BS on system to proctect from virus.

So far there are three of us here in this thread, that means something.
Maybe its the focusrite way of doing things that messes with your visual c libraries and not the v.r customized installer, idk.
I just think people should be aware it can do some funny stuff to your computer.

They "are" false threats. The keygen specifically needs vcruntime140.dll and msvcp140.dll in order to run. It's flagged because there is no certificate and both those files are in system32. If you run the keygen from Widows Sandbox it will tell you the keygen can't run because those two vcreds are not installed in the Sandbox system32. Copy and paste the two drivers in the Sandbox system32 folder and the keygen works. Wacapew.C!ml, Wacatac.B!ml. etc. are just a case of the same pseudo-names being given, relative to the "process" of any non-certified app and where it needs to write to in the registry, etc. In the case of the RET keygen, it's just writing the info to activate the plugins.. false positive. Those same names will be used to flag a script is malicious. Windows Defender won't scrutinize between a safe script and a dangerous one as long as it can stop you right at no trusted certificate.

I do believe once on a past V.R release they may have attempted to utilize the vcruntime140.dll from a location other than system32 (the web browsers firefox, chrome, tec. all hold a copy of that same driver in their local folders). Maybe V.R was trying to make it so those using Windows Defender wouldn't need to disable it temporarily. But that ended up causing Windows Defender to delete the vcruntime140.dll from some peoples web browser folder instead causing the browser to stop running without it. It didn't kill their PC though.

No problems with in on my Win 10 machine. Mind you I don't have Chrome installed and don't go online with my music computer. Why would you go online with your precious music computer. You're asking for trouble.
