A guitar with spongebob's endless pickups, a psych rocker from the 70s, side burn in the pits and records on the nips. I wouldn't need any samples either. I'd Iron Maiden the entire thing.

More samples = more possibilities, and if there is something to take with you for free - what you have you have, who knows maybe you change your style of music. I've retired around 75% and they are stored in the closet, you can still give them away or listen to them as a pensioner with a lot of time.

I now have over 100,000 samples distributed in several folders and labeled with Vocal, Bass, FX etc. I never need new samples again - neither given nor bought. There are also 5000 SoundFonts, they contain great sounds. Then there are the presets from software synthesizer - I haven't counted them, but they are enough for several generations or lives.

Actually, almost everything in the world is digitized and is available as WAV or sound font. A huge archive of our world of sounds. In the beginning the world was empty - now the world is full.

Why using drums samples packs since we have samples based SD3 for real drums and... everything else (electronic) is already covered by VSTi which are pretty indistinguishable (and even less when processed in a mix) from the hardware? No one on earth could differentiate Aly James Lab's VPROM from a real Linn LM-1.
To me, collecting drums samples packs is time, energy and disk space consuming for nothing.
The one and only collection of samples that I have kept (except Stylus RMX which is also based on samples) is from Goldbaby because his samples are very well processed with nice hardware. So I keep this collection, but... never use it.

Every human is unique. His taste in music is also unique. There is now something for every taste. Much of it is even free.
Formula: power generation -> hardware -> creativity = music

Pretty much the same here! Downloaded Reverb's "Vintage Drum Machines" collection and while I didn't have to high expectations for it to be any good, I was very positively surprised. It has pretty much everything I could need in terms of vintage drum machine samples.

I have used a lot of Zenhiser one shots before, but most of them sound a bit over-processed. The Reverb ones are just straight unprocessed and much easier to work with in a mix.

if all you are after is good Drum Machine samples, you really can't beat SamplesFromMars. Their "All" package is very good value if that's your type of material.

    Oh God not this again.

Break it up! Its ALL electronic music. Once it goes into the mic- its electronic. Once its in the computer or amplified and coming out a speaker - its electronic.

    so we win.

and as far as getting a 'drummer' who PLAYS drums

if you want to go there - our neurological system is binar and electronic

the drummers brain is electronic - so you'll never win this argument

its All waveforms in the End

p.s. electronic musicians have cooler waveforms

    PEACE

I found one like that years ago, simply called DrumMachines.zip. It had samples from a few hundred drum machines and classic synth drums too. I didn't bother with any more drum machine samples after that until the day Samples From Mars had a sale on their all pack for ridiculously cheap. I got that one because they sample their machines more thoroughly, different pitches, ect so it's a bit closer to an authentic sound if you want or need that. Another thing I did years ago was to DL every pack of acoustic drum samples I could find at the Andy Sneap forum @ultimatemetal.com. I ran those through my 80s samplers and treated them. Insta classic sound, very drum machine like. But yeah, no need to buy anything else for drum samples in my case.

I just looked for the sample pack I'm talking about online but I couldn't find it, I did find this https://www.hexawe.net/mess/200.Drum.Machines/

I didn't download it so I don't know what's in it. Maybe the name of it is accurate.

I can see how buying sample packs today may be useful to people who like to stay current and don't know how or just can't be bothered with making their own. Some people are also pretty obsessed with quality as well, always chasing the latest and greatest fidelity and whatnot. :dunno:

I loved how Billy Mays here, would always sell you on a product that delivered on your wishes of unseeing this commercial for the millionth time by offering you bleach for your eyeballs, ear canal and shit even dicc n ball if the commercial bothered you that much.

A product that fixes itself like a dog holding it's own collar on a walk while the owner is out so the dog is the owner of himself.

But wait, you don't even have to wait anymore, there's nothing else beyond the bleach. Just ask Cobain -™

if you are using a midi "drummer" like sd3, etc; you can insert a midi transposer fx and automate it. any +/- changes the layout of the kit.
