Here's three quik pic's on the HOW TO'z of getting yer samples 'ready'for building
a kontakt file. Its a very basic concept and approach; but it might be helpful for
those who just need a kik sart in the right direction !?? (I mean no insultz to anyone!!)

Im sure as hell , not the king of kontakt , I just thought Id share a bit of knowledge,
Since Ive been building these since its release of kontakt v1.0.1 !!!

Ah.... thats GREAT !!!

I love to help when I can , and oddly enuff ; I was making this for a
friend of mine , so he could do samples of his jv-1080 - (For ME !!)

So , what turned out to help one , I do TRUELY getz to help many !!!
I just wanna build kewl kontakt files , for all me bud'z 'round 'dA globe !!

No 'pattz' on me head needed !! I LOVE to make these damned things !!
I'll help anyone who ask for help too !!!

(But I wished the MORE extreme / experienced builderz would lend me
a hand once in awhile ..... unfortunately , most of 'em are tryin to keep their
noise's in the air soooo 'fuddie-duddie' .... Its A wonder they dont 'drowned',
"When it Rainz !!!"

if everyone who has the good fortune to own a nice piece of gear - be it retro or something new - would take the time to just record the samples, and send them to 0on3, we could have a massive library of cool stuff. hey, 0on3, do you have a midi file that will automatically play all the notes you need for a sample library? then you could just slice the individual samples from the audio file. seems like that might move things along quicker.

 

Oddly enuff .. Im learning to create my own script , so there's a 'window'
on my GUI/wallpaper in kontakt ; so you can 'drop in' your own midi files.
Im also werking on an interface in kontakt for dragging and dropping 'MY'
Soundfonts / SF2 file ; into an already built kontakt synth.

As for writting them and using midi filez .... ABSOLUTELY YES!!!
But then , I love to build SF2 fontz to handle that job for me, when
I record my own stuff. (Even for my clients coming into the studio);
offers me up the chance for 'Extra CA$H' !!! : to build them SF2 files, for
playing live shows!! Its waaaaay easier to just call up a SF2 and a midi
file , and ka-pow .... yer on yer way !!!

actually, what i meant was a midi file that you could use to instruct a piece of hardware to play each note in the 61-key range at three different velocities for 30 seconds (or however long you want). it would make it a lot easier to create the sample files that you need for sampling an instrument. just automate the entire process. i bet with the right daw, you could have each note recorded to a separate file using a comping feature. and set up a control message at the end of each run to change to the next preset on the synth. you could start the process and walk away for a few hours and when you come back you've got the entire sample set for your next library.

Sample Robot do the job, you can determine the number of notes, intervals, velocities, export to sf2 and many formats
Ive started to sample some D50 sounds last week (single velocity for the moment) , will try multi velocities this afternoon. fun ... : ))

0on3 is a personal friend of mine and a really great guy. Check out his site if you haven't already, he's been helping musicians get access to instruments by way of his dedication in producing great Kontakt builds. By the way maybe you two could collaborate on a project sometime.
