As far as I can see this indicates that some reposters post poorly cracked software, knowing that it is unusable. (Btw, the same thing was done for five consecutive porely cracked versions of a particular software, and it still stays on the sister site).

 

If you think something is poorly cracked, maybe just don't download it.
Or you could always crack it properly and upload it for others to enjoy.

 

Iirc, Makaveli only posts free stuff and some magazines etc.

 

One first has to download something to see if it is properly cracked. Not vice versa. Logic, you know.
And this is a matter of people deliberately disseminating 'cracked' software that they know isn't working. Making money, or reputation on it. Is it moral?
It has nothing to do with someone's own capability to crack something.
But it is interesting to see how many bots may appear on this site.

 

No, one doesn't have to download to see if it's properly cracked. You can look at the comments. Logic, you know. So again, if you don't think it's properly cracked, Crack it properly for others to enjoy.

Actually, this should be reported to the forum moderator. A good moderator would check this and warn or block the corresponding users.

 

That's not what I'm saying. You're obviously not going to be the first to download EVERY single post. So , before downloading, look at the comments. That should give you an idea on the actual post.

And if there is any form of " cheating " on the sister site, I'm sure the mods will check it out and take it down if need be. They've done so in the past.

 

Would you be so kind to tell us which is the software (posts) above? How do you know it was deliberate?

not that i´d support the OP´s statement in any way, but saying the opposite also does not make sense.

 

are you sure this software is unusable ("poorly cracked software")?

 

if someone posts a nuked scene release, that's on them for not paying attention (or other). if you are downloading stuff which is clearly from random P2P sources, you should expect random results.

 

Where I see the problem is in the method that the final user must adopt to get the app in question to work properly. Let me explain: there are easy cracking methods and others that involve deep knowledge of the operating system. When the method becomes too geeky, the final user is often in trouble and can easily get the procedure wrong.

Do not forget that most users are audio producers and not IT certificate experts

I am very happy when the cracked app has its installer which takes care of all the difficult manual procedures necessary. What i mean is that i would like teams to take better care of the user friendly aspect of their cracks, so to make them 100% foolproof

Reputation? What reputation would he get with not working material?

One thing is clear, when you use warez, you have to accept that you become a beta tester.
Most material posted at sister site works perfectly, but when it does not, most of the time someone comes with a solution.
(Not to speak about people who say it does not work because they simply dont know how to use it, ie dont use a descent firewall, try to use modified aax on legit protools, etc ...)
