What hardware synths you'd wish there was a recreation of?

Any workstation synth, which would be a hell of a tall order. They would charge me testicles.

So a workstation synth which is a DAW within a synth which will be a synth that is a DAW within a synth within a DAW that hosts the synths that have a DAW inside of them. Do you follow?

Might as well call them whorestation synths cause they get around don't they?

Well, Discovery is surely an Amazing synth,
but afaik it's only a recreation of the Lead part..

It's actually quite close and I like it for what it is,
but it doesn't have/produce the same sounds, so in absolute terms it's not the real thing..

Otherwise one could buy that for 99$, a midi keyboard+controller,
and save thousands of dollars, which will put Korg out of business.. no?

Then there's topic of all the variations of the Nord..
I'm not an expert and I know little about it, but it seems there's different modules like the Piano, Stage, Electro and Lead..

I don't know what the differences are, but I guess there's a lot of potatoes in the Stage and Piano versions too,
which I imagine could be more handy to me as I'm not really into electronic music..

I work on Soundtracks, and for one reason/another I may use synths from time to time,
so I know them a little bit and use them on a Basic level..

For instance I used the old version of the Discovery on a few Electro-Rock tracks for an arcade Video Game,
and I really enjoyed it, as it had the Exact lead sounds I needed at that moment..

Again Discovery is a Great synth,
but it would be awesome to have the full and official Nord stuff done by Korg themselves,
just like the Triton or M1 which are wonderful, and I had the chance to use more frequently on different Orchestral/VGM Soundtracks..

(Ofc I love my Realist Kontak libs as much as anyone else, but sometimes that's what the context/projects ask for,
like for instance the Edirol Orchestral or E-MU X3 Orchestral which I've been using a lot lately..)

I still have my (freezed) old Ultra Proteus that had Z-plane filters. Not much use, though, it cannot be used as external FX.

Filters, Amps and Trafos of the Akai S-950 are awesome but I don't like the rx950 emulation
SP-1200 grit as a plugin would be nice too
Boom Bap producers use Vulf Comp or Decapitator instead but a community trademark plugin would be hilarious like sausage fattener is to electronics producers

I'm guessing its pretty good. Sunny Lax speaks Highly of it and he has designed custom soundbanks for the real Virus

While thats an Access Virus emulation he also has one of a Roland JP-8000

This is a soundbank for this VST

This one is a Free JP-8000 emulation by CFA Sound (who does sound design for Resonance Sounds)

re: e-Mu zplane filters, a good oldskool synth emulation candidate with those filters would then be either the original Morpheus, or the UltraProteus synths. or some virtual instrument kind of combination.

i think everybody in the know- knows ;)
But a pure fx box would be great
the closest i ever found was another z-plane freak in the reaktor forums
who actually build an ensemble which mimicked
the sometimes unpredictability of those filters
great fun, but i forgot the name:dunno:

Those all would be great, but please, not to do shitty trap/regueton and all that kind of unpleasant noise. They got enough with Sylenth1 to do so...

The ''Roland JP-8080'' by Roland Cloud. This was resquested many times but we still have no news about it.

Kontakt and Battery have "Vintage" sampler modes with SP-1200 (filter high/hi-mid/lo-mid/low/off) playback, but somehow I think the grit should also take the input stage into account.
