Has anyone ever worked with sadie or pyramix? Or maybe is even working with one of those today?
Both DAWs are still available, as far as I remember, sadie was big in radio production.
I remember sadie was the first system, that could record to harddrive and could start an edit session while
recording. that was back in the 90ies oO
and pyramix wanted to be the better pro tools, even was able to open pt sessions.
I guess they've been the reason why avid encrypted the .pt files from some version on.
I gave pyramix a try once, but it was so horribly complicated and fragmented to some shitload of modules that
I gave up at some point.
Somehow exotic DAWs are sexy... somehow it's like the same as with women

i,for one tried everything when i started in making music from small ones (you guys remember E-jay products like
dance 5 and 6 and other genre in that e-jay products ?and how bout that cakewalk kinetic ,it was awesome drum patterning
and i ll take all that in to sonar
its too much work with moving sample in between those
so i checked few other daws like cubase ,nuendo, reaper for easier process then i got lucky with presonus studio one
and still im hooked with it (now even more with v4 )

im sure other people see reaper or protool and other major DAWS with same eye i see in studio one
    we all need reliability /speedy workflow,easy access/stability )
i mean what can be more easier that 1 click and you already created a track ,call up vst plugin
and you are ready to make patterns on that piano roll

if that was not called easy access then its better check out other daws mentioned up
see what fits your musical needs

i just took a new test with ableton live (well because i actually like it)

But ableton Live Suite v10.0.6 still doesnt work with uvi falcon midi channels.

    Been this as version 9.

it is certainly not uvi´s fault, because they tested it back then on my pc (with falcon v.1.5)....they said: "(hmmmm...that was strange)"

works perfectly in samplitude and cakewalk bandlab

    hm.... the best ?
    Is there at-all 'a best' DAW ?
Some have strength in one field , another shines on the other side.
And then we have the factor preference, some like this GUI others like the other...

I like the look of Logic ...its Stock Plugins and great performance on Apple Silicon

I like the ultrafast Controller mapping of Studio One ...

I like the Workflow of Maschine and its tight hardware integration ...

I like the waveform representation of Cubase, so that you can zoom down to even grap each sampler with the mouse ...

I like the vst sandboxing of bitwig ...

    ...

i have used studio one, reaper, and i own cubase pro, know it inside out.

i regularly keep an eye out for what new features the others are coming up with.

And right now, there is no better daw than ableton. period. The reason i dont shift is that the learning curve would be a hindrance i cannot afford. but the day i get to playing live, i will learn ableton, no doubt.

yes, there is another daw better than Ableton :)
first, every daws has its own problems and options, if I make music in Ableton and it's best for me... someone else does mixing and maybe studio one is best for him...
second, i used Fl>Studio one>Reaper>(some Cubase)> Ableton> and now Bitwig. I really spend time with them and now I realized Bitwig is the best FOR ME, period.
Bitwig has a workflow like Ableton + interesting options... the whole daw is like a synthesizer, everything is modulateable. and this is huge for me who make dubstep. + it has a real disable button that no daw has(
as far as I know). + its uncrashable + native 32-bit plugin support +...
no daw is THE BEST. don't be that guy :)

The best DAW is the one that fits your needs and it’s learning curve doesn’t get in the way of getting things done.

I grew up with Fruity Loops, Acid Pro, GarageBand, and Logic Pro X. There are plenty of others that have features that I find very interesting, and I wish I had the time to learn and dig deeper, but music is not a full-time gig for me and also life gets in the way.

I am currently trying to find a DAW for Windows besides FL Studio. On Mac, Logic Pro X does all the heavy work, and on both platforms I use Reason as a plugin.

    End rant.

Cubase because the asio and vst is an industry standard! It is true that these work without Cubase but Cubase is very you can go with it! ;)

Ableton has become a legacy vst after 100 hours with Reaper.

Looks like Studio One is leading the polls, it's growing in popularity along with Reaper, I think Pro Tools days as the industry standard are numbered, I like the workflow in PT, but unfortunately 12.5 was the last K'd version and I don't think I'll see a new version anytime soon, probably going to migrate over to S1, for the time being anyway.....
