Hi, does anyone know how to make studio one stop adding that annoying numbers next to the plugin name?

It does like that on purpose when you have multiple instances of the same plugin after another, so you know which is which. Studio One 4, and before does that too.

 

I guess every instance of a plug-in needs to be different because of the way SO is built.
BUT, this can turn very ugly if you use lots of instances of the same plug-in, and it should be invisible for the user and kept under the hood...
So at the end it's a matter of lazy programming, much in the style of SO developers, hehe.

This is done so that when you have multiple instances of same plugin, you know which is which.
Don't you guys know about plugin instance renaming?
I hope, there will be a script (external one) soon, to rename effects using Key commands. Lawrence had many scripts which you guys can use and that will make S1 even better.

 

I agree it is not that bad. I guess S1 rule is "rename and possibly confuse at your own risk".

 

huum... I've tried to add 2 instances of ni reaktor fx:
first - reaktor fx
second - reaktor fx 2

and arturia jun-6
first - arturia jun-6
second - arturia jun-6 2

then I've tried to add 2 instances of pa lindell 6x-500:
first - lindell 6x-500
second - lindell 6x-500
all others - lindell 6x-500

so, it depends on the specific plugins.

p.s. native presonus fx's also adding without numbers.

 

I don't mind it.. I'm too busy making music to even care
