I like this free shimmer-type verb. Atlantis is a ReaJS effect by Geraint Luff, works in Reaper or on windows/wine.

I've used it to basically create a pad out of anything.

download, audio demos, youtube link at:

Hey Livemouse, interesting Fx here at Geraint, can you explain how to install them in Reaper? I´ve imported the JSFX URL in Reaper extensions but nothing seems to happen. Thanks in advance.

the location for me is: C:\Users\you\AppData\Roaming\REAPER\Effects

put the JSFX you want to use in there or Reaper can't find them. I know there's another way, like the Reaper repository etc but I like to try to keep it simple.

if you try putting them in the C:\Program Files\REAPER (x64)\InstallData\Effects then I have no idea why but Reaper won't find them.

    does that help?

Yes it works thank you. I´ve read in some forum that should be placed in C:\Users\you\AppData\Roaming\REAPER\User Plugins but didn´t worked from there. That reverb sounds really well and I love the Droplet, thanks again.

There's even a txt file in the other folder which says 'Do not place any plugins here!'. That's why it didn't work for me either.

    Thanks, @livemouse. :like:

Could someone recap what reverbs had the most shoutouts? I am mainly using Altiverb and Relabs LX480 but maybe its time for some changes.

Sure, we just read through more than 720 replies and count the recommendations for every plugin. [IMG] :winker:

Not necessarily. Golden rule, what works, works.

It matters little what reverb you use in some cases. In other cases the mix will call for something specific. I love reverbs and using delays as reverb. It is important to control the reverb dynamics, time, tone, and sometimes position in the mix. In some mixes where you want to pull something like a band together layered reverbs are the best. Short times and long times. The early reflection verb is the glue. Check out what you already have. Even the reverbs included with your DAW. Be sure to learn all the tricks. Reach out for more when you hear something more in your head. I sometimes purchase plugins and they don't get added to my rig for a long time. It is added at a slow time or when I can't find what I am looking for in my head. Sometimes the best reverb is mixed to sound completely dry. It is carefully hidden. Just my 2 cents on this.

UAD 2 Lexicon 480L and Lexicon PCM Native, sometimes TC 6000 for small revs on Snares etc. They just work.

It's not that of a problem anymore. It uses ~ 0,3% on my old i7, Win7 and Reaper.

free Samplicity Bricasti M7 impulse responses are still awesome "natural-sounding" nowadays - can be loaded with any IR reverb plugin

Muddy : indistinct, lack of defintion and transients, unintelligible ... opposite of CLEAR sounding
Unbalanced : pushing/hiding some frequencies (not related to room size, of course)

A good reverb is beautiful and CLEAR sounding even on a 100% full wet big hall

Excuses like "you will use it at less than 3% so ..." is pure BULLSH1T !
I don't want to mix 3% garbage in my mix : it will MUDDY it

But i really want to mix those magical 3% pure magic like Valhalla, Eventide or most Nebula reverbs.
They ADD to the mix, they don't "blurry" it.

Guys, who knows what happened to 2CAudio? I remember them promising new versions of their B2, Aither and Kaleidoscope, but it's been like 9 or 12 months with no news from them.

What software companies from Sound/Music industry are staled? It's software, you don't have problems with chain of supply when working on it.
Anyway, yesterday I spent some time looking into it myself and it seems their developers are alive and well. Maybe they just decided to move on...
It's pity, their plugins seemed promising.
