    Moria

The Dwarves dug too deep, greedy for mithril, and disturbed a demon of great power: a Balrog, which destroyed their kingdom. By the end of the Third Age, Moria had long been abandoned by the Dwarves, and was a place of evil repute.

(from Lord of the Rings, obviously)

The entrance is covered by massive doors bearing the inscription Say 'friend' and enter.

Also kind of fitting, is it not?

That makes Gandalf the ultimate cracker.
He cracks doors and audio software. :beg:

Also, now that you mention it, the balrog resembled Steven Slate quite a lot...

And now, high level fantasy-geek fact. Balrogs were the most powerful monsters of the first era of the middle earth war. Kind of Sauron black riders on steroids. The villain was a straight god.

Frodo is the one that figured out how to open the door not Gandalf.

You are right. That clearly was a bluff. Even R2R... I mean Gandalf can not always success. The door of Moria was to Gandalf what Cubase is to R2R.
