What is one or 2 Free Vsts that you can't believe they didn't charge anything for? I'm just curious to see what other people enjoy and why.

    a few:

Airwindows. (I use the AU versions though). great sound quality and low resource usage. I like Buss Colors and Slew the most, but there are many others.

    Xfer Records OTT - freeware.

    fre(a)koscope - realtime spectrum analyzer http://mdsp.smartelectronix.com/freakoscope/

    Rift Filter Lite - RIFT Filter Lite - Next-Gen Morphing Filter | Minimal Audiohttps://www.minimal.audio › products › rift-filter-lite

    MVmeter2 - mvMeter2 | TBProAudiohttps://www.tbproaudio.de › products › mvmeter2

The ones my sister gave me. They didn't charge her either, apparently...

All jokes aside, there's some good ones out there that I liked but don't actively use...

Vember Audio's Surge, which went free and open source. The interface could use some work but it's skinnable. https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/

Vital Basic, decent alternative to Serum that a lot of people raved about when it was released. https://vital.audio/

Not a VST, but a Kontakt library: the Drummic'a kit by Sennheiser sounds pretty decent, but it's no longer available for download (or I can't find it).

TDR Nova is good if you want an easy to use dynamic EQ. https://www.tokyodawn.net/tdr-nova/

Just checked your your blog link, which is a great collection of plugins but then I looked through your services. You do Cassette masters? Interesting.

What genres have you mastered before? Would you master a shitty bm tape?

Hello @ FrankWhite23, these two virtual software synthesizers have an exceptionally good sound.
Both no longer available. I've uploaded them both here in our forum.

    AlgoMusic - M42 VSTi (32 Bit) jBridge

Ummet Ozcan - Computer Music - Genesis v1.0.2 VSTi with 4 Soundbanks

I've been working in audio in some form for 30 years, and I've always gravitated towards more fringe electronic genres.

If by BM you're referring to Black Metal, yes I've done mastering projects for artists in that genre. I'd definitely be interested in checking out your tape. Just PM me and I'll get back to you next time I'm on here.

MSED and Correlometer by Voxengo, A1StereoControl by A1AUDIO, Wider by Polyverse. They cover up pretty much all my mid-side needs. MSED is fantastic for panning wide sounds, as you can pan only mid. I use it in every project nowadays.
EpicVerb by Variety of Sound. It's really versatile and characterful, can dy everything from subtle ambiences to swelling 20s tails, and now it's 64 bit, so I don't even have to use Metaplugin.
RoughRider 2/3 by AudioDamage. Perfect for keeping bass or/and drums in place.
Helm by Matt Tytel, because I learned synthesis on it. Hope it's getting completed.

DecentSampler (not really an effect plugin, but a free sampler player)
TDR Nova seems to be the best free dynamic EQ. From TDR I also like the free version of SlickEQ and Kotelnikov.

(just a few crucial ones, I have way too many plugins, don't make that mistake of hoarding too much!)

    Synths: U-He Tyrell, Vital, Surge

Sample Based: Komplete Start library, Spitfire Labs (even though the download manager is sh*t), BBC Discovery, Decent Sampler with selected Pianobook libraries (I tested many and only kept those that sounded best to me)

Effects: TDR freebies, Orilriver Reverb, Acon Digital Verberate Basis and Multiply Chorus, Fuse Audio freebies, Voxengo Tube Amp & Oldskool Verb

Impulse Responses: Samplicity freebies, Fokke van Saane impulses, Greg Hopkins Impulse Responses, Studio Nord Impulses
