No. When Microsoft stops supporting Windows 7, it means everyone should stop supporting it.

W11 should run reasonably stable when support for W10 expires. But at the latest when W12 is announced. So I would wait a few more years with the upgrade.

I found it is a nice OS, but my hardware in particular was smoover with W7 as W10 uses more ram.
Much as I understood people wanting to hold onto W7, I too now don't really have the need for it, but will always keep it (all of my systems are on bootable clones) just incase.
It's only ever going to be one or two plugins or something now, if that.

while it might be true for many programs i wouldnt make a generic rule out of it.

many software only do not support a certain OS - up or down - because of a certain different path, a missing library or even at will.

of course upwards you find that more often and is usually easier to fix. simple example: many older programs on mac stopped working / beeing supported for later OS simply because the installer for the copy protection drivers did not work. so if you install the files in question manually, you can run these apps, which say "not higher than OSX 10.6", just fine until OSX 10.11.

as for "cubase 11 on windows 7" you would probably end up with a long list of missing components and give the idea up very soon. but anyrate, it would be interesting to know.

    sure those still exist.

tools like fseventer for OSX PPC / unix PPC were even a domain lower: they did not only monitor files and archives, they were snooping into the OS´s filesystem manager (or however it is called), something which is inevitable to undertand what certain copy protection methods do - and eventually reverse the process after logging it - or monitor the correct threading for your custom program build.

So, reading between the lines, what you're sayin' is... a couple of rolls of glow-on-the-dark duck-tape, a strobe light, Billie Eilish, a panda and a bottle of vodka is all that stands between us and taking over the internet? - yup, screw all this muso madness, let's reap life's real riches, count me in! :like:

For cubase11 it worked on win 8, 8.1
    but not win7 enterprise

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion]
    “ProductName”=“Windows 8.1 Pro”
    to
    “ProductName”= “Windows 10 Pro”

that brings some strange issues with Wacom tablets / touch, its practically unusable with pen/touch!
and of course c11 is x64 exclusively (i think)

    like Ŧยχøя said
the installation and copy over an older cubase version works
but has its own issues, like the score editor gets/is unstable

since i gave you some info
what are the problems you are facing with 10 that want you to switch back?
maybe there are some tricks to relieve those issues:yes::no:
