    Hi guys,

I was looking for an app so I could build macros for Cubase/Pro Tools, so I could turn time consuming tasks into a one-click task (mainly for sound editing). I ended up purchasing Lemur, which now seems like a big mistake, once I know absolutely nothing about scripts and programming. So guess what... I'm stuck with an extremely complex app and have no idea about how to start using it, let alone programming macros.

Does anyone know where can I find a very basic (preferably step-by-step) guide that could teach me how to build macros on Lemur and route/assign them to Pro Tools? I've searched a lot but only stumbled upon old threads or videos about how to set parameters and control faders/knobs but none teaching simple tasks like how to create a macro. Lemur's manual is not helpful, and neither their forum.

I use Windows with an iPad Pro with Lemur, so tools like "Controllermate" and "OSCulator" don't help, once they are MAC-only apps. I use X-Mouse though, if that means anything.

If anyone has a better option for building macros for Cubase/Pro Tools please give a shout. I have no strings attached to Lemur. I'm just giving it a try because it's already paid and I know it's a powerful tool.

    Thanks ;-)

Thanks for the reply! I did reach Slate's Customer Service and they confirmed that "the standalone version of Batch Commander is available for PT/Logic on Mac OS only". I'm on a Windows 10 rig. I also had no luck searching the DUC. But thanks anyway ;-)

Thanks for the replies, fellows! (and sorry for taking so long to come back here).

I was trying to avoid spending even more money on new apps, so that's why Metagrid was not my first option. And I suppose it wouldn't work as well, based on what I found on other trends.

I ended up using Avid's EUCON. The GUI totally sucks comparing to Lemur and Metagrid, but it gets the work done smoothly.

Pro Tools has some internal issues recognizing the ALT key triggered by third-party apps on Windows. When pressed, it automatically steals the focus and bring it to the menu (underlining the first letters in the top menu bar). Even if you deactivate the focus function on Windows' main settings, it's not deactivated inside PT, which keeps associating the ALT key to the menu control. That's why it's pratically impossible to create macros for PT (on Windows) no matter the external app you are using.

If you are inside Pro Tools and use the Alt key on your keyboard for a shortcut, PT responds accordingly, but if you set a macro on an third-party app using the Alt key, PT will not respond to it as it should. Instead, it will enable menu focus and ruin your macro.

EUCON, on the other hand, allows you to create macros on iPad using the ALT key normally. I guess it's due to the fact that both Eucon and PT are manufactured by Avid so they share the same programming lines... whatever...at least it's working properly now.

    Cheers!!
