20k can get you a pretty nice amount of must have rack hardware and a boat load of 500 series modules. I need that warm sound before I need that flashy ergonomic nonsense. But if I could.................I'd get it.
asolutly! considering that the top notch S6 will be around 100k-150k(just an educated guess) even more..but i think potential buyers a.)already have loads of outboard or b.) dont need outboard that bad.either way they've to earn big bucks basicly it is a big fat flashy mouse to control daws.no pres,no converters,...
funny thing is that if avid stop supporting (and the day will come) you can only watch the 'vegas mode' but are not able to upgrade your software... if they go the same route like with the control24,icon,.... Icon is supported until 2017 if i am not mistaken,then its useless or u dont upgrade protools till u r 6ft under http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EC00gTKzrgA ....honestly better than nothing,heheheheh
I worked with the Euphonix S5, and it was a great machine, just had a bit of a learning curve and a few glitches that were never 100% ironed out... Avid's buy it all to get new technology attitude is going to kill the console market... If they ever connect with Yamaha it's pretty much a wrap!
