Behringer continues with its promises of releasing the beloved LinnDrum (LM2) drum machine. One of the more interesting features added by Behringer is the ability to sample directly into the LM which makes it the very first sampling drum machine offered by Behringer. As anything with Behringer these days, the wait will be a long one. Just look at the 909 clone, and you will get an idea. This is what Behringer had to say today about it:

Mh, (accidentally) leaked in 2017, announced in 2019, prototype in 2021, means finished in 2023?

I think that depends on the quality of the sound and the hardware and the price, ofc, but probably, yes.

behringer certainly has too many projects going on. they would benefit from focusing on one or two projects.

This is what I think: cool that they're doing it, but I mean, they're entering a fairly populated market, plenty of sampling drumboxes out there now.

One thing to clone older analogs that most companies couldn't do en masse, but this better bring something to the table... or of course just be a metric fuck-ton cheaper.

    Maybe it's just me.

Until I can’t buy it on Amazon, the Behringer gear does not exist for me. Uli will no longer trick me with his fake news

Yeah same here. They announced this at the same time the RD-9 was 3 years ago and the RD-9 MIGHT finally be shipping soon. They havent even begun work on this so far, it aint coming out until 2030 if it ever does. Sorry Uli, you take too long and my studio is full of other gear now while we were waiting for you to release the 12000 products you announced years ago that still havent even gone to R&D yet. And none of it came out of the box with double triggering envelopes or messed up S/H circuits either..

It can't. The company has grown too big. The monster must be fed. And the way to feed it is by providing us with new products. New products are the lifeblood of a company. I remember that during my years at Roland R & D we were working on a dozen projects. Half of those projects did not make it. If a big company concentrates on just 2 products by the time they are released it will take them a couple of years to develop and offer 2 new ones. That means that for that period of time, no new offerings will be available and therefore, customer base will not increase which translates to no increase in profits. Moreover, developing new products revitalizes the engineering corps, and invigorate the company. Uli is doing the right thing. He just needs to learn how to keep his mouth shut when it comes to release dates just like he has done with this product.

It's good that Behringer production is so slow.
Instead of buying some of their gear that I'm waiting patiently for I got a beautiful Jackson Professional guitar with Fluence pickups and an ASM Hydrasynth keyboard for my upcoming 65th birthday. No need to wait for their CS-80 clone with poly aftertouch and ribbon controller anymore

Listen motherfuckers, it doesn't matter to you or McDonalds when that McRib is going to come out into which season.

Because in reality you will all flock to it when it comes out even if studies come out that rat droppings aren't edible and that's why sammich still look like brand new plastic years down the line when left out in your studio when real food goes bad in weeks, reality shows you.

In actuality you are all producers or musicians who will have no problem whoring out a space in your studio if that means you can replace the other piece of shit that you are too lazy to process to vintage standards with the over abundance of shit you own already if that means you can lift less fingers towards twisting encoders and more time to twist nipples, you bunch of gear hoarders. :)

Producer only say he no want the gear so late as 2024 but in reality he will gladly buy it in 2032 when it really comes out because producer will gladly whore out his shit beater car that can barely cook his breakfast on it's engine let alone haul his 23 thousand dollars worth of gear to go get him a couple of plays from those 2 drunk guys at the bar that didn't even know he played.

Producers only pretend at the drive thru that they don't want it if it's 10 mins late but they will gladly pre pay for something that will never come also. Like a producer in bed, never comes but never leaves either. Pahlese, they will buy it and they will sell something to keep it too.

My point is most producers are truly as spoiled to content as gamers, movie goers or avid book readers.

As far as gear, availability and price goes, we have never been in a better place so complaining about one thing or another for not being hardware in the flesh for the price of free in the name of code isn't going to get us there faster.

I can't even believe I'm saying this but we have so many god damned Pultec clones out there right now. I couldn't say that shit 10 years ago. So I think we are the lemon in the iced tea, trying to be sour when everything is already so fucking sweet right now.

"Precussion", when you've already hit your head hard but still carry on, amirite?

In this context: "I already had precussion from my previous Behringer purchase but I'm still considering this for the full concussion jackpot"

Concussion from harsh Behringed precaution that hitteth drum machined percussion.

    EXACTLY!
Endlessly talk 200hz dips that you emulate in your EQ chain anyways while pushing some highs up for clarity and how those curves are coded different from the other code that's supposed to be similar in this world of Pultec emulations. Or even worse... vintage perc machines.

Thanks for nothing Pultec clone #102! My crayons color better than this, I will just download another free one and you will lose nothing but the time I lost complaining about it! Producers...
