In the UK we would just call it a box. You could call it a cardboard box, or a carton, but most people would just refer to it as a "box".

 

Those lines & holes are called perforations and I guess that could be considered a carton box but most refer to it as a display box where people can grab one chocolate bar. Could also call that a dozen box which means 12 items per box.

 

Well I've heard of 12-bar blues played with a 'boxy' sound...

Carton is for juice, milk, drinks etc.

 

Fresh food products, even if they come in a dozen box.... like donuts for example, usually do not come in boxes with perforated lines.

 

Good point, cartons are considered more a container for liquids but I mentioned they are sometimes called cartons because cigarettes get sold as cartons in bulk.

 

I wish there were perforated lines on the side of bagels going horizontally so people wouldn't cut them vertically into a pile of multiple pieces like they are crackers.
