I don't get the hype about this 909 clone, i mean the RD-8 was just a flop when it released:
- RD-8 did'nt sync properly
- it acted very weird as master or slave clock
- the product was not finished, several features were buggy

I bough the RD-8 at release, and sold it after a month. They probably fixed these issues after more then a year.

but behringer is behringer, and hopefully this 9-9 clone will be a flop as wel so people finally realise how shit of a company behringer is.

According to Uli, the delay for the RD-9 release was due to the RD-8 syncing issues. However, this was fixed in the RD-8 with the V2 software update.

no doubt we are going to enter a period where everything is going to sound 80/90ss. that is the beauty with memories of past times, you cherry pick, and there was plenty to pick. but when you are in that era its not that funny, when you are bombarded with all that other stuff that you dont want to remember..

As much things change the more they stay the same. This is basically equivalent to a third grade 80s hair metal band at a very slow tempo, minus the delayed chorus reverb thrown on every track.

 

I’ve read some pretty disturbing things from employees about Uli over at Glassdoor. This 909 clone looks cool but I’m not sure I’d want to support a -- - - - CEO.

yeah, where have you read that? btw, psychopath CEOs, isn't that a requirement. its recognised as a pretty common psychological profile of CEOs in general today.

besides that, I would support that company 100%!!
making sought after gear within reach of everybody. it doesn't get better than that, I wouldn't dream of talking it down.

Actually if you read any of his recent interviews he actually lives a very minimalist life style.

wow, what was the point in faking such pictures, pretending to be shipping back then, weird. unless they were sent to beta-testers.

if they dont ship them now as they say then id start wondering what is going on in that department

Well, they had a problem with the software and another with Roland. If you note, on the picture I posted back in January 2019 they claim to be shipping it as RD-909 but new batches are RD-9. Obviously, they had to change the face plate and repackage whatever they had manufactured.

I am annoyed by the fucking lies Behringer tell customers. FYI, that "authentic" 909 software is only authentic because it is coded by Roland. However, like every other emulation of analog hardware, it does fail to capture the nuances of a real 909. Let us not be fooled by Roland's marketing claims.
