Hi there! I've done another mix (actually i've remixed this song around one year ago, when i started to mixing from scratch) to a multitrack from fab dupont's tutorial series 2015 (or 2017 i don't remember date exactly). I'd be appreciated if u guys spare some time and master my track for fun. Last post has got some awesome masters. Anyway I am dropping the .wav file below. Good luck, have fun everyone.

ps: good news, i just started to use reverbs now. Good luck with the washy fx returns.

That's because the kick and snare are far too loud with too much "click" to their eq, so lots of trickery was required to get the track anywhere near a proper level.

    Compare to commercial releases.

And slow attack would bring out the transients, not quell them, fyi.

For neubs like me why you say that it's over compressed what are you listening for? The transient squash or the quieter parts being lifted up?
Your own master on the last track was the one I liked.

thank you, he is right about drum levels i'm at work i just mixed with headphones atm and compared vca masters level. drums a bit higher in this mix so i corrected at mega.nz link now.

overcompression is like too much slow attack >> over exaggerate transients killing the sustain (with fast release)

with fast attack sucking the transients and make track lifeless, sometimes pumping effect. in a drum buss kick-snare and hats at same level but they are changing so fast. all individual sounds (with mic bleeds ofc) suddenly goes up and down.

    something like that.

kick and snare mono and overheads 50-50 panned. there was no room mic, i could panned overheads 100-100 and add some reverb but i do not know why skipped that part. Also i dont like overheads so wide anyway. It spreads hats and cymbals unnaturaly wide.

on a ballad type song you dont want slow attack. slow attack is for punch.
fast attack=creamy sound (sometimes too creamy)

i used 5 band multiband, widening, bass lift, sheen, limiting. just take it and call it a day !

why have the level at -12db?
you guys, a master needs to be far louder than these to be anywhere near commercial releases.
