VPS Avenger is also quite nice to create synth drums since you have 8 OSC , so you can have 8 different drums in one synth.
Ok you might thing OK, but consider oll built in effects, Flexible Envelopes,

and that you can have Voice stack, Unison, Choder, FM, RM, Granular, Wavetable, Multisample, More than 5 Filter s... etc.. as source

gosh forgot how the max4live drum machine is called , the one which has sort of 'humanization modulation on velocity and co per default .
do someone know it ?

 

I like XLN Addictive Drums 2, Heartbeat, the included Bitwig drum plugs, and the D-16 ones. Also Wave Alchemy - Revolution.

 

UVI Shade and Output Thermal are both very good on percussion.

 

I think the reason why there is no ultimate answer to threads like these is for the same reason that there is no answer to "What is the best ever food. To eat. Ever?".
or "What is the best car?".
Where a performance car would be inefficient for anything other than long journeys like just going to the shops.
Most electronic musics have a genre.
Certain old drum machines have become de rigueur for certain styles.
I don't believe an absolute bestness is ever achievable within the physical, by default.
After 5 pages I would suggest the op member is still faced with what they would have been faced with if they just did a browser search.

And then we should really mention Goldbaby. More time spent on different tones via recording and sampling process, and sometimes provides alternate vel for rr too if you want to create a fuller instrument yourself.

Yeah, I had it around 5 years ago for a while, but I just have the plugin now.
There is something else physical I want to buy, a clone...
I think Spark has some good examples of sounds/genres, and has a good overall sound and dynamics.
And the fx really add to it, so it's a good all rounder for EDM and for somebody new not necessarily wanting to get so into external processing.

 

for the past two months or so, this is my go to, plus some goldbaby and wave alchemy old sample for certain classic drum machine. I use Battery and XO every other time (but still using those samples) when I got bored and need something colorful (GUI). Adding Reason player in front of them also can get some unexpected result.

 

I never really got into Rob Papen Punch/Punch BD when it first came out, but I recently reinstalled it and was pretty surprised with the quality and character you can get out of it. It's not a bad little drum synth/machine styled plugin.
