Ordinary Panasonic vacuum cleaner, 1.400 W with dust bag removed. And it is much better still to blow it out with your mouth.

I use a similar blower. It works great and saves from buying new compressed air cans. Also, the compressed air will only work so long before they need a short break. The blower can last a while before it gets kinda hot.

And advice to all is hold on to your fans when you blow them, just to be sure you don't damage them. I just take my PC outside or into my garage and it's clean in no time.

As for how often.. the honest answer is I clean off the filter screens a couple times a week, but the actual case... not maybe every few months, or when I get new hardware. It should be done monthly.. maybe bi-weekly. My case is a full-sized beast, and my PC is upstairs. So, it's a lot of work to drag it up and down, but my PC thanks me when I do get to it.

Ouch... that was probably the purest isopropanol battle to get that clean again. I wouldn't even let this stinking piece of garbage into my workshop.

An electric air duster (like this thing) is a really good investment. I was just surfing around now to price check, and I don't know at what point they got so expensive though... I don't remember paying much for mine. I would have been surprised if I paid even $30USD for it. It's lasted me a long time. They seem to be at least $50USD for one similar to what I have though. I still think it's worth it.

In the long run, you will save money with one over compressed air cannisters. It will take a while with the price they're at now, but eventually it will be worth it. I'd have to think it's better for the environment too than tossing out those cans (or even recycling them). Maybe the price will drop again on them eventually though. On top of that, they're also very convenient to use as air cans will eventually run too cold to use, and you need to give them a short break after a bit of use. The air duster will be last a whole PC cleaning without getting too hot.

I use manufactured genetically and physically enhanced cyborg dust mites that have been engineered by my brother who is a geneticist. They are programmed to swarm the entire computer housing, and as the approximately 500,000 mites scurry along all the surface area down to 300 μm gaps, collect every bit of dust inside. When they are finished they head back to their container where they lives are terminated and are eventually recycled and converted into motor oil for 2 stroke engines. Right now it is super expensive but the price per "hive" will come down as time goes on. It truly is amazing to watch them go at it, and when they are done it is as if my computer is as good as new. The computer of course must not be hot or else they die and you have a greater problem and have to vacume them up and hope you get them all as they tend to stink up a room if they cook in an active machine...a little like a combination of burnt onions and popcorn.
