Can anyone identify this classical song/classical piece from an old ringtone?

Hello, sorry for posting in the wrong section. I recorded this ringtone from an old mobile phone, but I want to know, what's the origin of the classical piece? I tried Shazam, and I get the wrong results.
    Hopefully someone recognises it.
    Thanks!

Yeah it definitely sounds like an song by Bach but I don't know the name of it. On the phone, the ringtone is called "the_clock.mid".

sounds like Adagio for strings by Samuel Barber?

the last part sounds indeed quite baroque? So i doubt im right.

    tried Shazam already?

is shazam detecting even "covers" now? that would be neat. i thought it was pretty rigid, even slight changes in speed/pitch like in vinyl would make it fail

it should identity the melody - its worth a try i guess. i mean i have no ideas, i mean adagio for strings isnt it really and it sounds very baroquey to my melody memory.

i use shazam to detect tracks in dj sets, it does a pretty good job even the tracks are pitched up.

ok, haven't used it for a good while, must check it out again. btw, the OPs tune sounds like someone just practicing, maybe its just some random notes they took to make that ringtune and not even a specific "song"?

edit: tested shazam again now, got all sorts of results, in key but nothing with that classical style im afraid

I wish I could share the midi file with you guys but on the phone, it's copy-protected. I tried extracting the firmware to grab the ringtone, and it would be corrupted every time it was extracted. Probably because of the copy-protection interfering.

I collect old phone ringtones for preservation. Because most ringtones made by Alcatel are super hard to find.

oh, and do you any recollection of what phone/brand/model or anything it was you recorded it from. thought maybe that could be a way to chase a result. because its going to be pretty difficult unless someone recognizes it..

Its the second movement from Haydn's Symphony "The Clock" Op101. which imitates the sound of a clock.
