    Tried working on this...

First of all delete all those weird volume automations, they are just bad, second that Snare is hella weird friend(shallow and hollow), it triggered an OCD i never knew i had...

plus vocals need a little bit more presence, i feel weird giving the same observation to two different people in the same day, but please google pultec vocal trick.

Fix those problems, and i'll give it more of my time...

ps excuse the reverb, i had to because it felt "dry"

You interface doesn't imprint any sound to a render.

Besides of the type/quality of the Timbres used..
I'd say the Quality of the Recording and Mix are Very Good as they are.

I would try to Carefully make the mix less Dry in general using a proper Bus Reverb.
And also further reverberate some elements independently to Emphasize them, like for instance the Voice or the Shaker..

Also I will be careful with the volume level of the Shaker and Cymbals/perc,
make sure that's exactly the level you need, or represents what you want to express.

I would let the Bass be a little bit more Bassy, placing the HPF/low cut further down..
The tone is good tho, it has nice Mids, and the Highs are well cut,
it's just I would prefer it to be Slightly more Warm and boomy, which could fit the style, even tho it's an electric bass not a synth.

This, including Reverbs/FX, will still be part of the Mix/Production process..

Then it's a matter of finding a good balance on what processes to use in your Mastering chain,
and in which way and to what extent/amount use them..

Mastering is a bit like improving/finishing an image, by adjusting the Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Whites, Hue, Grain etc..

In my case it will pass through a Master M/S Comp, Master EQ, Harmonizer/s, Multiband Dyn Comp, Maximizer and Imager..

I usually work in Orchestral Videogame soundtracks,
so without modifying it for this specific task/goal, it would make a Subtle difference..

But still the result will be:
a little bit more Depth/3D, slightly enhanced Harmonic content, more Controlled dynamics, and a hair Wider image.

Other effects/results could be obtained if necessary by changing the Approach, and the level at which those tools are used.

However I will not tell you what's the exact processes/tools I'd use,
or in which way and at which level to use them.. or apply them on your mix for Free.

That's my Secret recipe, carefully put together and tweaked over the last 10 years,
so it will have to be rightfully compensated with a friendly fee.. :bleh:

    However I'd say: just Experiment.
First be Sure of what you Want/Need to Obtain,
    nothing can replace good thinking.

Then Experiment, the more you do it, the more methods/possibilities and tools you try,
the more your taste/knowledge of the matter will improve/evolve..

Thank you for your time it's a nice wide master! maybe a bit more wide then i expected. But well balanced, thanks again!

presets are useful indeed, but you need to twist some knobs ha? :disco:

First of all i am deeply sad to announce i have "0" automation line in this mix. Not even a single volume automation which i do almost every single mix but not in this one.

snare is maybe too bright for this mix i totally could agree with that. but hollow? i do not know exactly.

i've got avid's pultec on vocal, 6 db pultec boost (maybe even more) at 16 or 12khz with the broadest band option maybe a bit 100 hz boost i am not sure about this.

i liked reverb idea, but it is so loud and distorting, maybe over compressed i don't know it has so much pumping effect. But I appreciated for sparing your time for me! thank you!

i had one regret after i mixed the song and it was the precious low end. I realized after listening at different spaces like a store i worked and car i own. it was pretty good in car but many car's sound system got around +3 db boost at low end and i realized i cut too much low end after i listened it. In this master session you managed very well to fixing that tonal issue. I'd be happier if there's a bit more air but still pretty good indeed. Thank you very much for your time, and i really enjoyed while listening.

Another great master! i really liked it. Great low end and well balanced. Thank you for your time!

no, i did not used any reference mix at this session.

We do mix/master compare sessions where we mix, and master and then discuss the differences as a group. Need to post the stems to do this but I can set this up for any interested. Great way to talk and pick each other's brains about mix/master.

    Tudo belesa

Less is More as they say, and in Mastering that's very true.

Even tho I suggested a considerable number of processes,
I will only dial-in Minimum amounts that surely represent a positive/benefitial change..

It's the sum of all those little tweaks which can make a big difference in the final result and its perception.

I think the Timbre and recording quality of the instruments is Very Good.
The Bass, Guitar/s and Voice, all have a very nice Timbre/tonality and that already shows/takes skill/experience..
    (and good gear)

The only culprit for me will be the Drums,
they are clearly done with a Lo-fi or Synth approach, which is very different from what could be obtained with real instruments/drummer,
or with more realistic vst instruments..

I'm used to listen more realist/dynamic type of drums, so I can perceive a bit of stiffness..

But ofc it's an entirely Subjective and Stylistic matter,
you went for this approach and it's also a completely valid option in creative terms.

All in all, I would say the production of the track leans to a Dry and Modern type approach,
but done in a Natural way, that's without over producing or exaggerating any elements per-se,
as is usual in modern electro-influenced productions..
(like super sub-bassy BD's, volume-kill automations, super Reverberated and Delayed parts etc..)

I will still go for a more Reverberated approach,
if done carefully the track could end having a different smoother/deeper feel while preserving the Naturalness..
And also interesting things could be tried with the Voice by using stereo/mono Delays on certain parts, etc..

But well, all in all it's a great track,
    congratulations for/to the singer too!

On here? Is this for sharing with my group too? You can hear their mixes as they post them. The only difference in how we do it, is that we put the mixes on one page so it's easier to compare, instead of having them all spread out all over the place. Other than that, we do the exact same thing you all are doing here. Listening and discussing. I can set this up on a page for a group compare if you say ok.

it's ok to share and play with as long as you using as educational purposes. You can share with your group to discuss your mix approaches and making some practice. And i'd be happy to be a part of this kind of group to improve my skills, and hearing some different mixes. If you welcome ofc.
