When trying to install it asks for the original DVD, I tried mounting everything as a disc image and I got the same error message when trying to install. The installer on the sister site however doesn't come as a disc image file either so not sure what the workaround is here?

Works fine for me on macOS, and by the amount of people who have downloaded it, it must be alright for them on Windows too.

are you up to date on your Kontakt? i was looking at the minimum requirements

I can't even install it let alone try and add it to Kontakt. It doesn't come as a library ready to go, it's the Native Instruments Installer.

 

This is what it comes with, however the installer asks for original DVD and won't run.

Means what? Unpacked like on the tracker? lol.
The installer just places the files wherever you want them. It's not installed into Kontakt if that's what you were thinking.
You may even be able to extract the files and do it manually.

I found a workaround I think. By using a 7-zip I can open the pkg archive and extract the library without the installer. Just going to check this works in Kontakt now without any problems.

 

See my screenshot above, it comes as an installer that expects a disc image.

Get Pacifist and extract them.

Okay I managed to extract everything apart from the samples folder which I can't seem to find in the PKG files

 

Pacifist is OSX only. Is there anything else that will extract the archive? 7-Zip isn't up for the job it seems.

Uh I think Keka can do it too.
It was originally for mac I think but I found this link which is not to the devs but has the same logo.
Proceed at own risk as I can't vouch for the Windows version.

Well just create the folder! And put the samples in it.
You know the folder structure for a library, right?

Ah. Actually, I never looked, and I can't check now, but within the samples folder there may have been sub folders too.
I mean, this thing is made up of all sorts of samples; loops and instruments as you know.
But either way, if they are all in a folder you can show Kontakt where to find them.
Maybe you are actually saying you haven't found any samples yet?

I couldn't extract the samples before from the archive as it kept failing, but with a lot of messing around, I now have it sorted. Thanks

Probably not what you want to hear, but it just installed for me on Windows without any hassles at all.
- Using Windows 7 (x64)
- Mounted the .iso file using MagicDisc (virtual DVD drive)
- Shows exactly the same files as in your screenshot
- Ran the 'Action Strings 2 1.0.0 Setup PC.exe' file
- Hassle free installation

When I said I had exactly the same files as your screenshot I was careless and incorrect.
