Everything which is bigger than 3GB.
Good plugins are usually the smallest.
I don't like and don't use romplers or big sample basement plugins.
I have synthesizers, microphone and skills for that.
Space on my hard drive is reserved for porn.

I feel like I'm learning all about software people won't use even if it is free for them, but not really much about why they won't use it. Which is ok, I guess, but idk :dunno:

    edit: except for Kjaerhus, gaaahhhh

I'd say it's only ever one of four things: Over-priced; over-priced AND snakeoil; just useless snakeoil; and morales.

if you're not using T-racks, let me be first to tell you, you're missing out on SO mush, T-racks is one of the best if not best, none UAD stuff out there, i use at least one if not more plugins on each track on my mixes, their API and LA2a among the best!

i encourage you to really dig in with these. :mates:

Any premium dedicated audio editing software, simply because Audacity exists. It doesn't look pretty, but gets the job done. Also, according to a video by Martin Keary, the team is working on improvements such as support for non-destructive VST effects.

Also, anything that requires, or forces even, the user to download and install huge sound/sample libraries, that would otherwise be useless on its own (with some exceptions such as sampled instruments like guitars, orchestral instruments, and similar). It's very unlikely that I'll get to use even a quarter of the available sounds for, say, Nexus 3 or Omnisphere 2. They'd just be sitting there, doing nothing but taking up space.

If we were in 2010 I'd surely be agreeing with you, but also:
    Really? Really?
    Horses for courses, I guess.
I did keep some of the verbs from a release last year, but I wasn't impressed with what I was hearing and feeling with the other stuff, which incidentally I did use around a decade ago because then they stood out as being really good.

I don't understand this. What if some Microsoft employee make some similar bad things.
You will stop using Windows and You will buy a Mac?

I see your logic, but equally would you choose to buy your weed from a National Front member, or a nice, home-loving grower?
Where would you choose to put your money?
Or would you just buy it anyway and fund the NF?

You see, I think it is the principle of the matter, and in this case Lois was actually able to excercise his choice as he wanted to...
    And well done, too.

Stop using Windows and buy a Mac is exactly what all you wannabe's audio producers should do

my point is that there's all this hyped up bloated stuff that is pricey as well, and even if they were free I wouldn't want to bother to download them because of reasons, but the reasons aren't in the scope, just names of software.

Recently I hear some people telling me opposite.
    I don't have money.
I just stay with this what I have until it broke.

Ok. It is his decision but I don't see any connection between Slate plugins and this guy.
He was employee here. Make work and got money for it like everyone else.
They doesn't know about his bad things.
    Or I mixed up something?

It's like I stop to drink Coca Cola because one of the employee make something bad.
Why to hate the whole company because of one employee?
    I don't see connection here.

Employers are replaceable parts. Something that comes and goes all the time.
