i have tried using a minimoog to recreate the sounds i usually make with melodyne, paulstretch, metasynth and kyma, but it just doenst work.

the lack of FFT, DFT, LPC, upsampling, offline processing, hyperthreading, calling multiple instances and total recall, 40" monitors and scene releases renders such an analog minimoog to a useless toy.

Interesting mention of BIT, it was the only synth that didn't interest me much at all so I've never even tried it before. No one ever talks about that one. Zebra & Diva catch all the praise usually. For good reason of course.

I don't know if it is the best or the worse, I love the Emulator X3. Just downloaded few soundbank and must say it sounded better than a lot of other soft synth I've been using. not plastic at all.

Toys 'R Us will have Rock Rm Sock Em Robots that punch with oscillators instead of fists. But the strength of your oscillators depends on how well you designed yours in the studio then dropped the osc wav samples onto your flash card then inserted it into your Rock Em Sockem Robot.

Like a Tamagochi you have to take time to program that goes into your robot that spits out sick wobs or else. Then instead of having MMA they will have the SWA, the Standing Waves Association.

Oscillating a Candle means burning your hand, but it's not as Harsh as Anal Log emulation,
ask Rob Papen if I'm not right.. what a Diva!

Realism is thus linked to modulation of the PWM,
there's a fine balance between Sound and mad, SWA and Tone2 come to mind..

    (in Synthesis..)

Since installing the Legend, I no longer opened Diva. Diva is probably more versatile, but the sound of Synapse is just second to none. Warm. Analog. Incredible. Unmatched.

I will come back to Diva and Repro when u-he finally release their CLAP (final, not beta) versions. I heard some features will be improved which only CLAP allows (more modulation etc.) and more CPU friendly. Until then I just installed The Legend and Obsession this will keep me busy for this year for sure!

the DSP56300 Virus emulator is not much difference compared with Diva. You might want to bounce or freeze more often, or not open many instances. It's not *that bad.

Diva was ahead of its time when it was released.

This synth is still awesome but today's landscape is different: Diva is no longer alone and we are blessed with many great alternatives.
