I can finally say that Diva is the best vst soft-synth to emulate analog machines

I want to bring my experience with Diva here. For me Diva is the best soft-synth that perfectly emulates analog machines (Roland, Moog, Korg, etc ...). The beauty of Diva is that you can mix the various components of a synth (VCA, VCF, Env, etc ...) with the various models available on diva. Example I can put a Moog filter with the Roland envelope and with digital oscillators ... or analog oscillators (Moog type) with Korg filter and Moog envelopes. With this possibility you can create powerful and very analog sounding sounds. You can hardly feel that it is a vst !!!

Not worth the cpu hit you get with it. I will always pick the Legend over this, its an upgrade in sound imo.

I have legend but I prefer Diva.. if you have a good pc like intel i7 k version or amd ryzen 7 you don’t have any problem with low buffer size and cpu usage for Diva!,!

You can be sure that whenever you say 'x is the best', a lot of opposite opinions will join. Even when you would record the original hardware sound someone would come up and say that this or that plugin is better

    Opinions opinions :)

But yes, Diva sure is a very good analog softsynth. Actually, I own a hardware Moog Matriarch and did a basic comparison with Diva, and I couldn't tell the difference. Ouch!
(Edit: Only when setting up a basic patch; once I start fiddling with the Matriarch it starts sounding quite different than Diva... since Diva does not emulate the Matriarch. Thought I add that for completeness sake ;) ).

funny how I always use the "Digital Oscillator" in Diva for a synth that "perfectly simulate analog machine".

I always smile when people come to forums and claim it sounds just like XYZ hardware.
How many times have i heard how a certain plugin sounds exactly like "my" pultec. Yea right.

Be sure to try out U-He Repro-5 as well: it's a véry faithful recreation of the Prophet-5. And then there's also Synapse Audio Obsession that does the same for the Oberheim OB-Xa. And Tal J-8 for the Jupiter 8. Those 3 softsynths are my personal favorite analog emulations.

But you can do them all more-or-less with Diva, making it very versatile indeed.

Diva is immense. That Kraftwerk preset pack confirmed to me it is the best.

Diva is great, I can agree with everybody. I've never met anyone that didn't like Diva after actually diving into it a bit.

What I want to know is, what is the best ANALOG synth that emulates that most accurate DIGITAL sound?

I know what you're saying though, but I would eat a piece of melted hot snickers of the ground in LA if they actually re-made a vst but with hardware.

Great question. But first we need to define "digital sound" so we can agree on a a commen refference point.

Most synths from rob pabin sounds extremly digital/plastic to my ears. It has its place ofcourse so its not a diss against rob pabin.

I think Stevies point is that nothing about a soft synth is analogue but an emulation. Maybe I got it wrong. So we're talking about a completely digital synth that emulates analogue synth. Anyway, I love Diva, but especially when it comes to the filter, Serum, ANA2, Spire, Surge, and a couple of others have a really nice set of digital analogue emulation filters to choose from.

I love The Legend, too, but it emulates only the MiniMoog. We're talking about flexibility here, aren't we? Repro sounds fantastic, too, but I can't say it's better than Diva when it comes to diversity of the sounds.

"What I want to know is, what is the best ANALOG synth that emulates that most accurate DIGITAL sound?"
Wouldn't that probably be one of the last and best analogue samplers - Emulator III? Using sampled analogue oscillators? hmmmm

Rob Papen can't hold a candle to Tone2 when it comes to digital sound. Although I admit I never tried Rob Papen's synths. So maybe he can.
