I totally agree, but humans should be allowed to dwell in stupidity. We gotta make time go by one way or another. Sadly, almost all our stupidity has detrimental effects on our environment. And this particular case of stupidity is especially detrimental.
Now I really wonder if you even read your own messages before posting, let alone the replies. Tell me what, what makes the price of cryptocurrency? As for the other video, for a moment I thought you made it. I mean, the speech style is different, but the bias and ignorance are all the same. The mining impact on both energy and hardware consumption, to my knowledge, hasn't been precisely calculated yet, but it's way beyond 0.02% this guy is talking about, because it's noticeable. Especially the hardware impact, which effectively drags the whole market to severe deficit right now. Not singlehandedly, corona sure helped, but still. Mining farms are overloading city grids in some east of Europe cities, it's not 0.02%
Surprisingly, I have not heard of nft tokens before. Moreover, I found out about it only because I decided to participate in challenges related to the fight against environmental problems. This was new to me and I didn't know that because of participating in such startups like MyImpactPower, you can have collectible NFT cards. For me, this is both a good investment and at the same time proof that I can bring at least a little benefit to the ecology of my country and the world in general. I would like to hope that there will be more such activists over time.
I don't have this data - I haven't Googled it because I don't trust the sources - but I wonder how much energy the blockchain uses in comparison with the banking industry, which it will probably eventually replace: is it more or less efficient right now or will it be more efficient in the future?
I would try to convince the people who do not want to grasp it, but they will instantly jump from environmental, too the fact that they think whole concept is useless.
I agree with you that humanity is going in the wrong direction and that we are very bad about the environment and our planet. I read a lot of information and articles on the site https://marineclimatechange.com/ that are devoted to environmental protection and environmental problems that are acutely facing all of humanity at the moment.
