Hi. While we are on the subject, I need help with these libraries:

    AlteredStates
    Analogue Sequence Loops
    CM Session
    Cult
    Latin World
    Morphology
    Nostalgia
    Outer Limits
    Raging Guitars
    Vapor
    Vocal Forge

I know. Old. I can load them on my Kontakt 5.2.0. I load them first , they need to be activated but when I remove and load again, they are fine, Problem is once I close Kontakt, I have to do the same process again because they won't stay loaded unlike the rest of the libraries I have. I saw the tutorials on how to make nicnt files and I followed them, but no such luck. Any help on getting these libraries to stay in my Kontakt. I'm running Mavericks as well.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    kingchubby, no chance. *no*
You have to do the same process again every time. All these libraries contains the old .nks sample containers.
Neither the .nicnt method nor the creation of .info.nkx/nkc/.plists will cause these libraries to remain permanently visible in Kontakt 5.

There's a version with nki's and wav's floating around for Analogue Sequencer Loops. That one works with a created .nicnt.
All the others - forget it. You can work with those, but you have to add them again and again. That's how it is.

I dont know what is Maveriks but your library should be stable in library tab.

It is dificult for me to help you because I dont know the structure of MAC systems. But there must be a place where Native Instruments files are stored, and there you should find .xml files with name of these libraries.
    Ex: Altered States.xml

If these files exist delete them, and add the library again.

If it dont work, send me a link to one of your nicnt file.

    Thanks.

Mavericks is the latest Mac OS X operating system.

Found what you were looking for. I believe those files would be under /Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Service Center
There were no .xml files for the libraries described above.

The nicnt file you want is it one of these old libraries I created?

Olymoon, it doesn't work. I already spent many hours to find out how. I tried everything.
I was experimenting with all known and unknown possibilities and manipulations back and forth - many tries, only errors.
These libraries don't create a xml file and they don't work with a nicnt.

But if you find a method how it works on Mac, i am sure many people would be grateful. Try it out. I failed in this matter.

However, it's not that these libraries wouldn't work. They do. It's just about the permanent visibility.
That's why i had to ask myself in the end, if it's worth to further on waste my time with this.

edit: every library on Mac, which works with nicnt, creates automatically an xml file, as soon as you add it to the tab.
Without xml, they won't work anyway. But all (i don't own them all, but they are all of the same age) these old libraries mentioned by king chubby, don't create a xml by themselves.
And if you yourself create it manually, it doesn't work as well. :dunno:

Only libraries with nks behave that way. For all the others with nkx there's a solution, though there's no patent recipe.
Different libraries needed different solutions, even if their content has the same suffix. :snuffy:

Alraun, so explain to me how I got them permanently in my Library tab?

BTW, having the xml file in the right place is the only thing needed.

SO if you add manually an xml file, you dont even need nicnt file.

Copy this text to create an xml file like this one, but replace the red part by the name of your library and replace the blue text with a nicnt number that you didnt used before and call the file thenameofyourlibrary.xml and put the file in your service center folder. Restart Kontakt, your library should be there.

Shit, what was that? My comment was suddenly deleted. Again:

It doesn't work this way on Mac.
I tried it again, exactly the way you suggested (with Altered States).
The library is not visible afterwards in the tab.

When i use the add library button, it is there - and working.
But this is no change at all, because it's already the case even without nicnt and/or xml.
When i close Kontakt and open it again, the library is gone again.

What would maybe help is to know the HU and JDX number of the respective library.
To add those numbers in the regfiles helped me to unlock/make visible for example Electri6ity or Evolve Mutations.

Evolve Mutations was the hardest nut anyway so far.
I don't know why, but It needed a nicnt and info.nkx and an entry in Content.plist and the HU and JDX in a .plist file,
and a xml, before the Demo-Mode escaped and everything went well. But this is a library with nkx and no nks containers.
Doing the same thing with the libraries mentioned above wouldn't be successful.

As i said, different old libraries needed different methods to make things work on Mac.
Strange, but true. For some of them i was able individually to find out how, for others (only those with .nks) not :dunno:
They are fucking old, one can be happy that they work at all with K5.
