    hello guys,
I just purchased a new pc and don't relish the task of re-installing all of my omnisphere discs, presets updates etc, would it be at all possible to transfer all of my omni data from my old pc to my new one?
Or can i install my main dvds on the new pc and transfer over the huge steam folder from the old pc?

    Thank you
    rab

Yes just move the STEAM folder to wherever you want, then make a shortcut to it in the hidden folder "C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\" on win7. Don't know where the shortcut goes on winxp. I would imagine on XP it would be "C:\Program Files\Spectrasonics\".

But as you said you got a new pc, I would say use that first shortcut in the hidden folder ProgramData.

Thats all you have to do is make a shortcut to the data, after you install omnispere again. You can just install the newest update to get the omnisphere.dll on your computer. Then just make that shortcut to the data and all is well.

All you need is the latest update and your steam folder. There's 2 ways to do it.

1). Put the folder where you like and run the latest update. When you run omni for the first time it will tell you it can't find the steam folder and you can then browse to the correct place and all will be ok.

2).After installing omni and before running it, just drag a shortcut of the steam folder to your spectrasonics folder, its in c:\programData for me on win 7. Make sure that the shortcut is just named steam.

I've used both methods myself in the past.

Damm just beaten. Next time i'm gonna answer before i make my self a coffee :)
