Porn music producer here. Hence my handle. There's not as much of a demand these days for porn music. Gonzo scenes (most common type of porn these days) is the name of the game now as opposed to "plots" and "storylines". I actually envy the composers from the 70's that had to put together a full arrangement for the boning scenes. It sounds like more of a rewarding endeavor. Now, most just enjoy just random people with cameras filming hot girls do dirty things. These days it's just maybe 16 bars or so of a modern EDM beat that's requested from directors. They play the beat during the intro that shows the company name/logo (brazzers, round&brown, etc). and that's about it. Then they interview the talent and take care of business.

It's best to watch the scene, take care of yourself to it so you can get a "feel" for the scene. Once I asked the director if he could order the male talent to thrust at a bpm of 120 so it would line up with my drums. I got denied.

However, that being said....

You're wasting your time if you think someone will be rubbing one out and stop mid-jerk and be like "oh wow, that lydian chord progression is really hitting the feels right now, i'm going to stop tugging it and look up the composer for this scene."

And yes, I've gotten laid from pornstars that I met through scoring porn. LOL. 80% of them are ravers who like dubstep, edm, etc.

Depends on the company/contract. I made a quick $500 from Brazzers for a 16 bar beat and I’ve also made beats for smaller indie companies for a couple hundred.

As for how I got into it...

Location, location, location. I live in LA close to the San Fernando valley (where most of it is shot) I used to bang this one girl who was into djing and did porn. One thing lead to another and she introduced me to the right people.

Just like anything else with the entertainment industry, it’s all about who you know, not what you know.
