Thought I'd start a topic for those who upgrade to mavericks to let those who are concerned about doing so know of any plugins that might stop working or not work right. That type of thing. Ill be back once I've done so. If anyone else already has, what do you think?

I too am interested...anybody have it and can speak about Stability? They claim the UI is less on aesthetics and lighter. Any performance improvements?

I did the update a few hours ago. So far I haven't encountered any problems.

For reference might be useful to know it's on a 13" macbook retina using Live 9 32bit and the native instruments Komplete 8 plugin collection.

Can't really tell any difference yet compared to mountain lion to be honest.

    Hope this helps.

i've been on it since gm and i haven't had any issues.

i use my laptop daily for dj'ing, music production, video editing and visual fx.

    all working fine including...
    scratch live, serato dj, MixEmergency
    Resolume, MadMapper, VPT
    traktor
logic pro x, ableton live, Bidule, VE Pro
    Adobe CC
    Final Cut Pro X
    NukeX, Boujou, etc

just installed the public release. it doesn't seem to perform any better than 10.8.5. i know i did get better performance when i went to 10.8.5.

    late 2011 17" macbook pro 2.4Ghz intel core i7, 16gb ram, 500gb ssd, 1tb hdd

Just a simple question...i'm just babbling i guess, bored between projects. Just seems like a very minor update. Almost doesn't seem worth reinstalling all my shit just for tabs & tags

it's not worth updating. i'm just one of those day 1 people. for instance i'm getting the xbox one on day one lol.

anyways the only app that didn't work was little snitch. v3.2 or v3.3 fixes the problem.

Same here bro! haha I couldn't think straight for weeks waiting for mountain lion to come out until you get it and realize it's just an operating system. The anticipation is always greater. Them companies have us by the BALLS lol! Fucking advertising...

I'm going to get a new desktop here soon so i can run all those new insanely processor intensive apps that i love to stack over eachother...

not satisfied till it's overdriven, compressed 20 times & sausage fattened to a turd
    i'll just wait till then

Thanks for taking the time to reply, nice to talk to somebody who knows what they are talking about :mates:

So far little snitch needs to be updated, my access virus can't be used as a core audio and logic x and 9 both just had to rescan all my plugins. Everything else seems to be working fine. Will update again once I've tested more

Did it yesterday. All working. Better then ever!

I see a lot of Mavericks functions for musicians.

One of them is longer battery run if you working on MacBooks.

I was also hoping to add it to my 2009 macbook air model but was worried about performance issues with 2gb RAM installed, has anyone experienced any errors, glitches or sluggish behaviour yet?

I have Mavericks installed, even though I still wanted to wait. I went to the appstore and have read through the Responses.
They were mostly positive. I then read through the negative to find out, if there's a reason why i personally should better not install Mavericks.
Some people have said that Mail and iPhoto does not longer work, but most people were complaining about download problems.
Still, I expected that i have to spend a few hours after the installation to repair, what was ruined.

Just for those GUI freaks like me out there: GUI was completely set back to factory settings. Everything is gray again.
This is because Mavericks upgrade overwrites all system files including the resources of
System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypesBundle (system icons), System/Library/Frameworks/AppKit.framework (few backgrounds)
and System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreUI.framework (Finder, Dock), where the main images are stored within the archives ArtFile.bin and SArtFile.bin.
The content of these archives has changed a lot and can’t be exchanged by those from 10.8. That’s why all third-party GUI tweaker do no longer work on Mavericks.
Maintenance tools also don't work on the new system.

These apps did no longer work here: Flavours, Little Snitch, Cocktail, Onyx, ML Cache Cleaner, Fileward. There’s an update for all of them but Onyx. I can't confirm malfunctions of Mail and iPhoto.
They work well here, also every audio software and all but one single plugin (Sample Magic AB).

I replaced/edited manually about hundred GUI files. Dock GUI is no longer manually editable like it was before, and some other things i couldn’t change yet.
Path Finder and XtraFinder are compatible. Here's a pic (PathFinder). Yeah, i am a night owl.
    Mavericks Path Finder.png
The system performance is improved indeed. Better flow, faster system. Just the Dock needs a very long time to start at the beginning.
Another thing: some softwares (Safari/JDownloader/RAR-Tools) now seems to crab a lot of inactive memory and the system does not free that part of RAM itself, unless
you close the respective softwares again. 1-2-3 GB! of inactive memory almost permanently isn’t nice (iMac,3,02GHZ,8GB RAM). I solved this with FreeMemory.
I haven’t seen any CPU spikes or crashes so far. This is no Lion 2.0. I don’t regret the change to Mavericks. I can live with it. *yes*

edit: Parallels Desktop 8 does not work. Updated to v9. TranslateIt! 14 does not work. Updated to v15.
EasySIMBL needed an update as well (useful to get back the coloured sidebar icons).

A last thing: i recommend to deactivate/delete all those new Safari extensions like ebay, amazon, search me, slick savings .o.,
because they increase the amount of inactive RAM disproportionately.
The problem with slow starting Dock is solved as well. I don't know what exactly it was, because i did a lot of things to speed up the system.
An important point was probably to deactivate all the unnecessary LaunchDemons/Launch Agents/StartUpItems and to keep only those who are really important for you like LittleSnitch f.e.
However, after some hours of final tweaking the new system is faster than ever before! Yippiiee! :dancing:

Everything works. Pretty seamless. I don't notice any difference from 10.8.5, however, but it's not worse.

    onyx is available now.
it all works fine on my system. my only regret is the new garageband. thankfully you can still use your 6.0.5 for your 32-bit needs.

:excl: :excl: !!Careful!! :excl: :excl: Many positive comments here, but don't be lulled into taking the leap if you have obscure plugins. I jumped in against my better judgement only to find that GSI VB3 organ plugin DOES NOT work. See http://www.genuinesoundware.com/ and scroll down to the third article. Sure, they are working on a 64 bit version but that has been the story for months -- no end in sight. VB3 is a pretty cool plugin but the designer needs help to fix a few things, including Mavericks compatibility and 64 bit support. That little plugin has cost me in more ways than one -- starting to test my patience, and living up to their slogan "imperfection is a feature"! NOTE: MrRay73mk2 and GS-201 are also affected.
