So I am playing around with Roland SRX Dance Trax and I want to know, what is your favourite SRX Plugin?

When i used the srx series like one year ago, my best srx plugin was SRX Dance Trax because there were a lot of presets similar to the sound of the 90’s dance/techno music... now I leave this plugin because I find other plugins which are more beautiful and good... but in a so far future perhaps I put an SRX sound in one of my production;)

 

I like JV1080 and XV-5080 because they are the most flexible with the most presets. However, I find myself using Zenology far more often since it got released.

 

Every one of them has great patches and waveforms! Personally, I find myself reaching for the XV-5080 the most, as it has the most varied collection of patches. After them, I like the SRX Orchestra and SRX Keyboards ones.

However, after the release of Zenology, it's been great as it has all the Roland sounds in one place. But the absence of Chorus and Reverb effects is a letdown. Also, while I feel it's a bit lighter than the JV, XV, and SRX plug-ins, it has by far the highest initial load time among all my plug-ins. It takes 45 seconds to load the first instance of Zenology on my PC!

 

i use a lot zenology, the new synthesis by Roland (ZEN-CORE synthesis, also in their Fantom synth and Jupiter X synth) and their ACB tecnology are able to create very very similar sounds like analog synth (JUPITER 8 ecc..). But Zenology use a lot of CPU, it isn't optimize....

Ah, so it's not just my PC being slow then.

D-50 has a charm of its own! Would be great if they release the JD-990 at some point as well.

I don't know how those old hardware boxes managed to run 16 parts at once, but somehow even a powerful PC now will be on its knees if you try to load 16 instances of any of these series of plug-ins! I feel Zenology is a bit better in terms of resource usage, but only marginally so.
