Why haven't I bothered to try these synthesizers before? Just recently got a hold of Absynth 5 and FM8.

At first I was hesitant to get these mainly due to the fact that I thought it was going to take up crazy amounts of CPU and I was intimidated by that(I have a reaaally shit computer...). But to my ultimate surprise it rarely uses up much CPU at all, and best of all. IT SOUNDS FREAKIN AMAZING :wow:

There are so many good features in both synths and they have so many powerful options in both of them. It gives you a world of sound design capabilities without it being too harsh on the CPU. Did I mention that it sounds FUCKING AMAZING also?

These two synths out-do anything in Reaktor all together. I was using Audjoo Helix before for my Synth sounds, and that synth sounds pretty good too, but the filters and options in them SUCK compared to FM8 and Absynth, and it didn't have a really cool UI design either.

I'm totally using Absynth and FM8 from now on and I honestly recommend it to anyone who is really keen on sound design!!! These two synths look good, packed full of features, sound great and super efficient.

Everything I've wanted from vst synths are available with these two plugins...and these synths will help me ALOT with my Sample Library project that I'm working on *yes*

If you haven't got your hands on these two...you better do so now cuz these two synths are BRILLIANT!!!

I think I've just become an NI fan *yes*

Both of them I use very rarely, and mostly with presets because they are quite difficult to patch, compared to the good old analog modelled stuff. Though they are great, I really don't like most of the NI interfaces (small fonts, fiddly menus, preset system etc).

But Monark with it's slick interface is my choice for mono bass lines, and I sometimes grab Razor (again a superb interface design) if I want a different timbre.

duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude...duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude Absynth and FM8 are awesome to patch...totally worth the complexity given the sound. Great for sound designers. The presets are awesome, but the independent sound design capabilities are a Sound Designers wet dream...still playing around with them. SO EXCITED!!! :break:

Because I was always hesitant to try it...I'm just excited and happy that it WORKS! Just a fun recommendation because I know there are guys out there wondering the same when it comes to CPU usage... :bleh:

I know, I played around with all those shiny toys for quite some time, but now I like to think that toys are for playing, but if you really want to master your stuff you have to concentrate on working with tools, not playing with toys. :dancing:

So I strictly work with a limited choice of synths to achieve mastership eventually.

Well said DokX.Of the massive Tb's worth of toys lies the real tools which for everyone is different.Of the Tb's of DLing and trying I found the tools that I needed to make my sound. It only amounts to 100Gb's.I bought what I actually use also........it was less than $700 for everything. If you don't pick something and stick to it you will be forever stuck in toyland endlessly trying without buying and never making any real music.

NI Massive and FM8 go hand in hand man. when I make my bass music jams...NI Massive on the lowend and FM8 on the mid-high kills it every time. They work well together when you are trying to make one full sound or multiple.

Even more so ALOT of people are starting to really kick in youtube with FM8 tutorials so it's easy to find new ways to utilize it.

Also if you like FM8 you might like Linplug's new "Spectral" plug. It is cool and easy on the cpu. And it's like the new kid on the block right now that no one really knows about but i think it could be damn good in the long run.

My personal favorite will always be Audjoo Helix!

I like Audjoo as well because of the sound, but God those filters were really annoying to modulate...and the GUI design wasn't very exciting...could of had a more efficient design. People don't realise how important GUI design and efficiency is when it comes to successfully being able to design a sound...

Yea it is hard to maneuver in it if you mouse click all of the parameters. I use the numerical function at the bottom. I'm a real neat freak about my parameters so that is a key ingredient for me. I love the granular sounds it can produce. I swear it makes sounds i've never heard other vsts get close to. 4 oscers and a extremely convenient matrix too? Shhiiiiieeeeeyyyyeetttttt!
The GUI is def why alot of people passed on it but it does grow on you after while..... Kinda like cheesy grits.

^that's true, it did grow on me a little, especially when I started going crazy with the endless amounts of envelopes, made me feel like a sound designer king!!!

But alas, I have moved on once again...to FM8 and Absynth BADASSERY :break:

LOL, yes they are great, and Massive, too. I bought Komplete 9 Ultimate, what a big box of fun toys to play with, even though I haven't actually done anything with them yet, lol, but I don't regret shelling out the cash, I'm sure I'll get around to doing something one day. I just can't decide which DAW to buy, they all look cool.
