    This is a MAJOR Update

    What's new ?

    Surge 1.9 is a major feature expansion over January’s Surge 1.8 release, including
    4 new oscillator types,
    15 new effects,
    a large number of microtuning enhancements (including support for ODDSound MTS-ESP),
    substantial new content including a set of patches tailor-made for our new oscillators by Jacky Ligon,

    Surge 1.8 was amazing release. Tons of features, updated and simplified GUI and embedded airwindows effects.
    And now we have another effects and OSCs set, just amazing.
    Free synths released in last years (surge, vital) pleasantly surprise me

    A quick note: for those who've not tried Surge and are thinking that "do I need another freebie?" you're missing out.

    It used to be commercial and it was brilliant back then, then Claes started working with NI (I think) so he open-sourced it and the current dev team have been just improving this diamond. Sounds fantastic and has one of the best modulation systems around.

    He moved to Germany and founded/created Bitwig Studio with a few other developers. Not aware that he worked for NI though.
    He has a thing for orange and modularity.

    i always forget about this gem, was actual one of the first commercial synths i tried out - thinking 2005 or so.

    some in depth tutorial i would even watch on it.

    I so wish someone would do the same with his Shortcircuit sampler. That one is a beast, so easy to operate and so flexible. :wink:

    Yeah, me too. SC2 is open source as well, but it might not ever happen: https://github.com/surge-synthesizer/shortcircuit-xt
