Given the different problems that negative ratings and their misuse have brought here, we've decided to remove them.
Nasty rating has been completely removed, and only dislike and disagree remain, but they do not carry negative points anymore.
As a result, if you calculate the stats, there will be a deviation. Sorry about that.

We hope that this change will help Audiosex to focus on positivity.

I understand the need for positivity, etc, but nasty could have that "double check function" sign for the moderators staff. Anyway, let's hope these new action works!

I mean, yes there is a ranking: are there any advantages to being among the top of the list?

 

Ranking? Well, means personally very little to me.

But points (or votes, or whatever) sometimes helps when scanning a longer thread to find useful posts.

The ratings are useful, not for oneself, but to have an idea of posts based on ratings of, say, people you know.

I didn't even know there was a ranking no wonder he was going so mental over it.
Sounds silly to even have a ranking. To repeat the above.

It's obviously not based on technical knowledge or skill.

But it's not like the ranking is harmful. It's just an stat based on ratings. I could do without it but don't see a reason to remove it.

Any chance of a bemused/WTF/FFS rating? - sometimes that would definitely be useful.

 

I commend @SAiNT for overhauling the negative rating system. It was long overdue. The negative rating has been used as a weapon by @#@$@!! members of this forum to harass others. The rating abuse also has caused the departure of big time contributors. If I were @SAiNT I would have gotten rid off the whole rating system, and only leave a thumbs up. After all, this is not Facebook. That is the reason I never issued a negative rating against ANY member. I always felt that a dislike or disagreement is more effective when explicitly stated as it promotes the exchange of ideas.
Contrary to what has been said said, there is an advantage to being top ranked. For example, top 10 positive ranking members get internal team releases which are not available anywhere else. Top 5 Best Answer holders receive $1000 worth of Bitcoin from @SAiNT as a token of appreciation for their help. Finally, Top 25 members with the most points receive a 4k video of myself playing with a pink double headed dildo.

The rankings are just stats based on those ratings. And best answers, which while a bit different are also based on an individual post.
