Without VNC in Windows, you won't be able to install plugins.

You dont need to install your plugins on the lenovo thinkpad——there are two ways to use the audio gridder setup—-if you install the server and the audio gridder plugin on your music computer when you open the audio gridder server it will scan all the plugins on your music computer —the server will locate the think pad and use the ram to power your plugins

I think ... you are talking about Waves SoundGridder, not the AudioGridder we are discussing here.

got a strange error since today and havent got it fixed yet

i got windows running over parallels. when i connect the plug in logic with the parallels machine, it finds the server and all plugs. but when i open a plugin, the plugin is opening up in parallels for half a second and is closing down immediately. so wont be able to see the UI in logic.

i reinstalled audiogridder on pc already, did a rescan and so on. v1.1.1 is running on both platforms.
    any idea?

Version 1.2.0 Beta 1 was just released.

    CHANGELOG
    Release 1.2.0 Beta 1

    17 Apr 2021

    GENERAL
    • NEW Sandboxing: Each AG plugin (chain) will run in a dedicated server process.
      • A crashed remote plugin will only affect a single AG chain, rather than killing the entire server.
      • Complex sessions load much faster due to real parallel loading of remote plugins.
    • NEW Local mode: Improved UI experience when running server and DAW on the same computer. (Use this in combination with sandboxing to have multiple parallel plugin UIs!)
    • NEW Sidechain and multi-channel (16in/16out) support.
    • Improvements:
      • Plugin/Server handshake: True passive mode, all connections will be opened from the plugin to the server, which will allow a server to be behind a gateway and will simplify the network setup.
      • Added universal binaries for macOS.
    PLUGIN
    • NEW Presets:
      • Store/Load FX chains or instruments as presets.
      • Set an FX preset as default to be auto-loaded with a new AG plugin instance.
    • NEW Tray App:
      • Consolidating FX and Instrument plugins into one monitor window.
      • Support for reconnecting all plugins in one step.
    • NEW Automation assign/unassign all command.
    • Improvements:
      • Always open a Plugin UI.
      • Use Generic Editor automatically when a plugin has no UI.
      • Improve UI contrast for activated insert.
      • Show the server address (IP) for multiple servers with same name.
    SERVER
    • Added close button for plugin windows.
    • Fix: Disable screen recording permission check for macOS 10.7

I don't see that happen to me. 1.2 Beta 1 just released. Running in sandbox mode helps reducing the processing resource and more stable. Hopefully it helps you.

    very impressive update! absolutely wonderful:bow:
@iBuffalo you guys are doing a great job with this project! And thank you for keeping us updated with info over here.
Gonna be up all night with this:thanks:

just a side note to anyone that wants to use AG local - set a static IP on your mac so when you reload your project AG will stay connected.

Another note, if you are a Windows user who has been using 1.1.1, please uninstall 1.1.1 before you install 1.2 Beta 1. This will be fixed in the next Beta ver.

Nice improves, Audio effects runs fine but No midi in audiogridder instrument in logic with server in a windows 10 parallels machine.
it also doesn't let me select local host in preferences(same machine configuration here).
I think I go back to the previous stable one haha

    Thanks for the feedback.

"it also doesn't let me select local host in preferences(same machine configuration here)." --- can you take a screenshot of that? Thanks.

Thanks mate!.. But no capture is needed, it just won't let me click on the box ... I've already gone to stable. but the new app is great, it goes much more fluid and I love opening AG and opening the plugin, also save your presets and your chains, great times for this.

o wow! just came back to this post after starting it a few weeks ago ... a lot of catching up to do :)

    1) could anybody tell me if its worth to install audiogridder on a macbook pro mid 2015 i7 2.5 ghz 16 gb of ram ? i was thinking of installing it on bootcamp and use parallel so that i can use some windows plugins in logic - did i get it right ? is that doable ?

    2) i also have a macpro 2008 , Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors with 10 gb of ram ... i would use this for extra power ... if i got it right i need an ethernet cable and obviously a usb to ethernet for the laptop... can i link them using a router (the one that i use to spread the wifi in the house ? it has a few ethernet ports in the back .. or is it best to have the two computer connected directly with the one ethernet cable ?

thanks a lot!!!! and glad this post was well received , thank you all for sharing your experiences!!!

i run the server on a parallels macbook pro mid 2012, 2.3ghz i7 with 16GB ram. cpu hadn't let me down so far on loading a couple of plugins. havent really tried synths so far in a project. i anyway bounce it straight, when i found what i was looking for, so i dont see a reason why i wont run on your 2015 machine :)
