no need for win upgrading. i use win 7 and ableton 11, works fine. the only problem is ableton's cpu meter, its more in the red than anywhere else (compared to live 10). but look at your taskmanagers cpu usage, everything is fine. as somebody said, put a post-it right over live's cpu meter, if you feel better.

 

When my Live 10.1 projects loaded up in v11 with the Echo plugin missing that was a deal breaker for me! What were they thinking. Sure I can replace it but including it in v11 wouldn't have hurt them, and would save headaches. Ableton make some strange decisions.

 

What do you mean? Echo is still in Live 11.

No problems using 11.
The comp function alone makes it worth it for me.
The CPU indicator was annoying so i turned it off, problem solved. Never have a crash, or drop outs.
So, yeah, i'm keeping it.

 

Tried it didn't work for me (no nulling).

 

The only issue I have with Live 11 is that two of my project files can't open 80% of the time. Besides that very annoying issue, I didn't have any problem with 11. I've been bitching about 10 all along, but I'm satisfied with the new one.

 

I don't have 11 (yet) but there are still some annoyances that still seem to remain.

1) Why can't you get a bigger MPC-like pad GUI for Drum Racks? Why does it still have to be that teeny tiny ass window in the bottom section of your screen? Something similar to MOTU BPM, Reason's Kong etc. And yeah I know you can expand the channel strip in your main window, but it's not the same...

I mean mainly for building custom kits.

Using Push 2 sort of helps, but the hardware browser is not a good solution for browsing thousands of drum samples, if they're in larger folders, so you need to use your computer / mouse anyway.

2) That said, why is the effect rack / editing section still that tiny strip at the bottom of the screen? Don't know if you can move it, maybe, probably not. I know it's been like that since forever, and it sort of works with the Clip workflow, but it still feels kind of cumbersome. The consolidated solution is still better than plug-in pop-ups, though.

3) Why can't Live have controllable external MIDI volume? This is essential if you use any hardware synths. This is a feature that's been in DAWs starting from the 80's and 90's. Yeah you can control the "volume" of single MIDI notes, but it's not the same.

4) Why can't you drag warp-marked (warped / edited) audio Clips into Drum Racks, you have to resample them and THEN drag the new ones? Makes no sense. Has this been fixed in 11?

Have you tried the Velocity MIDI FX? Or do you mean sending CC7? Both can be done.
