Live looping using Ableton looper: always too much latency?

    Hello everyone,
I am trying to use Ableton looper just like the looper pedal in my zoom multifx. Problem is the zoom doesn't sync with my daw, and I'd like to use some drums from my daw to record some live looping performances.
Só I tried Ableton looper. I like how ir works, how I can set how many bars I want to record etc. Problem: latency. There is always some latency going on, even when I set everything in Ableton and in my audio interface for minimum latency. I have read and seen YouTube videos that blame Ableton Live for this (when monitoring is on, there"s always a little (audible, perceivable) latency going on, they say). Is that It? Has anyone used Ableton audio looper successfully without latency or is It not possible?
PS: when recording, I have always dragged my takes a little so they sync, or turned monitoring off. (No perceivable latency in this case). But to use the looper for a live performance, you need monitoring on! And then... Audible latency comes in!
PS: If the problem is really from Ableton Live"s side, any other daw can work similarly to Live (loops, clip view, audio and midi looping/ triggering) but without this perceivable latency problem?

Thanks in advance and hope everyone is doing well.

it's a bummer because ableton claims that live is designed for performing live. each new version seems to introduce new problems that make it less usable for performing. i don't have an answer for you. just empathy.

Do you use any fx, when recording/looping?
I haven't use live since 8 or 9, and it worked great back then.
Have you tried bitwig for loop recording?

Our workflows, I'm sure, are different but I've never had a problem with it.
Have you enabled the 'Reduced Latency when Monitoring' option?
Also, View > Track Delay and set to negative value?

Use the highest Sample Rate and the lowest Sample Size Buffer you can.
Apologies if I'm stating the obvious and you've tried all this.

I've used Giada Looper before. It's simple and effective and free.
Circular Labs Mobius is also free and apparently used by this Ed Sheeran dude. Whoever that is.
These are simple loopers though. Nothing like Live's feature set.

You can try Nabla Looper if you use Reaper.

I had the same problem when using Roland FC-200 MIDI Foot Controller but not with Behringer FCB1010. So, the problem was coming from the MIDI Foot Controller not from Ableton. Now, I'm using a Keith McMillen SoftStep 2, which is expensive and not easy to program but has a lot of options and work perfectly ith Ableton. I hope this could help you.

Thanks! Haven't tried the negative value for track delay hint. The others are like you said: lowest buffer size possible, reduced latency option checked.

Altering the sample rate for a higher value and track delay for negative values did the trick!!!
Thanks everyone once again, and a special thanks to Pinkman!
