No, literally everyone on the planet stopped using Ableton Live 11 on April 4th 8:30AM UTC. Didn't you hear the news?

seems so long ago. 11 was supposed to be that big step for mankind, and it turned out be blip in time easily forgotten after a few glasses of wine.

No... Everyone moved to MS Paint because it's a better DAW.

Works fine here. The CPU meter in it is a little fucky and mine is regularly at like 50% and the CPU overload goes off alot but its not actually affecting my projects at all. Havent had a dropout or anything yet even though the thing is constantly going off.

Yeah I was thinking on getting something to tape across the corner of the screen as it is just too distracting for me

    Oi! i do!
used it to write this tune while testing it out:
    https://anonfiles.com/T6SbUaofu0
Agree with everything said here about the cpu metering being haywire from the jump, even with blank projects, which proved to be inconsequential & not very accurate at all. No audio buffers, drop outs, or the like - just highly distracting hyper activity.

other than that, i have zero complaints. Comping feature has been sorely missing for long enough.

    cheers,

im back to v10, just seems to handle better CPU wise. And there was nothing from the new features i used often.
Maybe the Hybrid Reverb, but i found another great Reverb, which is a lot CPU friendly.

Will see how i goes over the next betas, have 11.0.5b1 installed and as soon a new beta comes, i will upgrade my beta version and test again.

CPU meter is so useless, its way to sensitive, plus for me it was even more off compared to the v10 meter, which yeah is off, when you park cores, but it still gave you a hint, if a plugin used a lot of CPU, while this ones just goes crazy with audio dropouts, when you duplicate clips channels, etc - non CPU intensive stuff.

The CPU meter became for me useless, which i could use the v10 meter in v11 or turn it off.

11 works way faster than 10. CPU meter is just a display bug, nothing to do with the actual CPU performance, which is way slower in 10.

when this faster working goes in the direction that duplicating stuff in ableton gives audio dropouts, while CPU usage is very low, then i rather wait that 500ms more.

again what i also noticed, that Plugin GUIs give extra CPU load, more than the sound of the plugin, might be marginal, but this shouldnt be the case in a good optimized program.

This seems to be a known issue on Ableton chat forums too, hopefully this can be improved. I get freezes after using fewer instances of VI then on 10 as well.

This is Not a Joke or Troll but,

    I used Ableton since Inception.
I Live Techno performance since 2002
    Ableton 4 was reallygoo d
Ableton 7 was the Last good cpu efficient release
    No bloat, No Nonsense

Ableton was meant to be a "Live performance tool" not a daw. Loops and Audio .fast
The wave of new Ableton users in 2007-2009
changed the direction of Ableton to more daw and more slow cpu heavy bloated.

Since then Ableton 8-11 is a resource hog
Max4Live is nice but sometimes Not worth it

the vst3 scanner since v10 is a huge problem that Ableton doesn't seem to fix still in v11

Instead of optimizing to efficient as possible
They chose to make push and max4live
Ableton developers rather waste time coding changes in "Master and Slave" to "Follower"

I really like using Bitwig more than ableton
even if bitwig a pain in ass to work audio.
    and a little akward workflow

It's like how Reaktor 6 is good but bad at same time
blocks is garbage. Stick to core and ensebles

I feel you. I started with 8 and.. things have been getting pretty more and more demanding CPU wise, bloated and slower. Well, that's my impression too.

I've been having no issues with 11. The "take" feature alone is a huge improvement to me. Along with all the new MIDI features. I don't quite think it was enough to warrant a new version all of it's own, rather like others have said a 10.5, or all the features of 10 and 11 were combined into a single release. The cpu meter is pretty stupid, imo a downgrade from 10, but oh well, doesn't bother me much.
