I'm running Windows 10, brand new laptop, and the video engine fills up but never launches.

I have this same version of PT installed on my older laptop with the video engine running fine, but I can't remember how.

Would really appreciate some help.

 

Wish I could help you (and myself). On Gearslutz & the DUC there are pages full of Videoengine troubles.
I recently reinstalled a current Win 10 with PT 12, the video engine worked exactly one day.
So I ditched PT and learned Nuendo. Zero problems with video.
If it does work on your older system, reinstall that version of the OS, including all those drivers -and stop it from updating. Maybe it'll help.
If you find another solution yourself, please let us now!

That's all? Sounds good! I thought already had FFMPEG, but i'll check. Which Windows 10 version do you run?

Hiya, I am on the latest as far as I know: 20H2

When I downloaded from the link above I then opened the folder called bin, and double clicked on each of the 3 files/applications.
