Just out of curiosity: which is the oldest software and vst you still use to make music? And why?
    Mine are:
    - Tobybear Minihost (for the versatility of its bonus such as step sequencer, arpeggiator, recorder ...) and
    - RgcAudio SFZ (basic, light and not very beautiful but perfect for Soundfont, which I use every now and then ...)

Elottronix XL - I use it rarely (haven't in months) but definitely oldest. The one I regularly use is Kush UBK-1.

    Rarely:
    - Magnus Choir (2006) because it's the best simple choir plugin
    - Vesco FX Provoker (2010), a very simple but good sounding compressor

    Regularly:
    - AAY-Audio aMS-ToolsPRO (2010), simple and good working multi band imager

    I guess.

    VSTs:
    Delay Lama
    Steinberg Model-E
    VAZ Modular
    E-MU Emulator X3

    Soft:
    Recycle
    Logic Platinum 5
    Adobe Audition 3

I don't know which one is the oldest.
I use a lot of old plugins. Maybe something else is older than those.

    Now why:
Delay Lama is cool for background. Choir like voice.
Steinberg Model-E is very nice synth. Very good for making Blade Runner type of sound.
VAZ Modular is cool modular synth. One of my favourite.
E-MU Emulator X3 is one of the best vst sampler. Almost like hardware one.
Recycle - I used it with Akai sampler.
Logic 5 is last Logic version for Windows and is very cool.
Audition 3 - I use it for processing samples. Very handy.

    GSI VB3 1.4
Acoustic Samples Academic Grand - the Kontakt version
    E-MU Emulator

I mainly use these today because I still play some of the same songs I created with them years ago. Just got used to them, and nothing else sounds the same, to me. I actually played the "real" Academic Grand that A.S. sampled, and loved it. It still hangs out with me. These plugs made it through 64 bit, and Win10.

I remember cool edit Pro, I used it up until cool edit 2000 and then hated it because Adobe brought it. It's not so bad now, they did a good job in the end

What do You think about Audition 3?
Is there any major difference except UI?
I prefer 3 because there is cool slider for Gain. You just clicked on the sample and grab down or up. It's very handy.

Ball length lentheners because dropping balls is so yesterday. (I talk like I know amongst visuals but I can't even see my rear view mirror correctly.) I only know about audio, not video like I'm some genius or some shit.
