    (solved) thanks!

so...i have usb monitors(no headphone socket)

    laptop and headphones

when i try to switch from monitors to headphones (or the other way)

each time i have do the following

    hit
    ctrl + P
    go to device
choose output device, and change it to either Monitors or Headphones..

my monitors don't have a headphone socket

is there any way to switch it faster than that?

i did cubase a decade ago just a bit...but i restarted with reaper when i started taking it a bit more serious

i'm trying to stick with it, seems like a good daw

No, not at all. Apart from Kenny probably no one understands it completely. I just like to fiddle around with stuff, configure things my own way and this way I discover some things.
I started with Cubase a pretty long time ago and knew almost everything by heart. I switched to Reaper at version 5.x so, not too long ago.

IMHO, Reaper is the most versatile, performant (and second ugliest ) DAW. But it needs a lot of time to get used to its naming of things, let alone all its possibilities.

Reaper is the DAW in disguise. Drag and drop hundreds of skins to make it look like Pro tools, a SSL console ,any other DAW or something from another planet.

If you change the hot keys it will even emulate other DAWs. If you haven't yet, you should visit REAPER stash for skins and try it out. It is an amazing amount of fun and inspiring that it is even possible.

If you are migrating from CuBase there are a few youtube vids showing how to do so.

Hope everyone is doing fine, and last I checked my photoshop sounds crappy. LOL

Post ment with good intent, not a hater.
