Altromondo Studios: famous dance club in Rimini (Italy) where “The Creatures” were resident on stage and every weekend this was their show:

Their show was exactly as you see in the video, i was a snotty kid but i was there, every saturday

The spaceship in the footage was not built to shoot this videoclip, it was actually part of the disco scene: it suddenly came out from under the dancefloor and “The Creatures” show started.
Here is the final scene of a movie, showing how the spaceship came up from the floor

"The Creatures" disco-hit was "Believe in yourself"

All this is definitely 80's ...

I wouldn't agree that they werent good at dance music, you are probably unaware of their earlier work such as :

Princess Say I'm Your Number One
Princess After The Love Has Gone
Princess I'll Keep On Loving You
    Princess Tell Me Tomorrow
Princess In the Heat of a Passionate Moment
    Haywoode Getting Closer
Haywoode You Better Not Fool Around
The Three Degrees The Heaven I Need
O'Chi Brown Whenever You Need Somebody

Yes its pop music but its well crafted and some of it up there with the US R&B charts at the time and easily better than any modern pop dance music. If you know anything about well crafted pop music then you have to admit that this meets the criteria. Also they had their own sound and were adding something unique to the 80s electronic music landscape.

It must have been a wonderful show, envy you.

Back to thread, scratching from my memories bit by bit, really loved this one:

Well, looking at the video now it looks quite cheesy, but I assure you that in the 80's it was a really dramatic and emotional show. Before covid, Altromondo Studios was still in business: I have no idea if they were still using the spaceship for these theatrical performances

Prior to Miami Sound Machine's "Conga," these 2 songs Modern Romance with their infectious use of Latin style bass, percussion and bras, were certain to guarantee a stampede of patrons to the dance floor .

There is a [IMO, cause I'm not exactly a fan of top charts music] better version by Laibach that you can definitely dance to. Not exactly 80s though.

Speaking of dance music from the 80s, DAF "Der Mussolini" comes to mind. You gotta dance pretty fast to this one. :)

Since that version was not released in the 80's it is "off-topic." Nevertheless, thanks for pointing it out vro! I did not know it existed. As you also mentioned it, you certainly can dance to it.
