how do i copy velocities from one section and paste them to another section with different midi notes?

it seems like it only copies both midi notes and velocities

can't i just copy the velocities and apply them elsewhere?

I don't know if this is even possible at all, in any DAW. Velocity is a value inherent in a note. There can't be a note without velocity, so it makes sense that it couldn't work the other way around too. I mean, you can draw in any controllers, but not velocity.

This is possible with 2 scripts from maker mpl, it's not implemented natively in Reaper.
These 2 scripts work in the MIDI Editor.
If you wanna have the scripts in your Reaper Action List, you need to install the free ReaPack extension first:
    www.reapack.com
After this having installed, in Reaper click menu item "Extensions" > Reapack > import repositories
    Then paste in this URL:
    https://github.com/MichaelPilyavskiy/ReaScripts/raw/master/index.xml

If all went OK, you will now have the 2 mpl scripts available in Reaper Action list, section MIDI Editor:

    Script: mpl_Copy selected notes velocities.lua
    Script: mpl_Paste selected notes velocities.lua

    Hope this is helpful !

That is one of the advantages to use a DAW that is "half open". People can contribute and develop things that original devs dont have time to worry about.

    Hi,
    I did some investigation:
It seems that all mpl scripts (including the 2 velocity scripts) are included in the ReaPack repository,
which is automatically installed when you install ReaPack.

So the url i posted for mpl's repository is not valid anymore (sorry for the confusion !)

So, if you have ReaPack installed, the 2 scripts should be available in Reaper Action List, section MIDI Editor.
Can you check this plz ??

    - Open MIDI Editor
    - Make sure the MIDI Editor window has focus
    - Now, open Action List
    - Make sure you see "MIDI Editor", on the top right of the Action List
    - In Action List, do a search for "mpl velocity"
The 2 velocity scripts should pop up ..
