You can’t play fair with the progressive liberals. They don’t play by the same rules. You speak of resistance, but your words seem more conservative than revolutionary. We are artists: we are at the forefront to imagine a better world, certainly the world does not change for the better by defending the right to insult.
The first thing to do if Gearslutz wants to be a better forum, is to try not to discriminate against others, starting from his name (and in fact they changed it). In this case the insult was also aimed at a weaker category so it became a cowardry.

I totally agree with name change in situations like "some teacher wanted to reference some information from Gearslutz to his students but couldn't because of the name". BUT are you seriously now saying that SLUTS in the name push away females from the site. DO you realize that saying that, you are showing that the only ones you associate with this word is FEMALES. This is the way of your thinking, the way your brain reacts and absorbs information. START WITH YOURSELF before you preach to others.

PLOT TWIST, there are professionally working females on that forum, and they give two shits about the name. And you know why? Because they are smart enough to understand context. Gear slutz. Get it?

We need to view current events in relation to race and gender through the lens of history. Most Western, free and democratic societies are at a developmental stage akin to puberty. Would any of us feel comfortable turning back the clock two hundred years and living in that societal paradigm? Trading and owning slaves? Beating them to maintain order? Or even 100 years ago where women were not considered to be of sufficient intelligence to vote? We have moved forward and like biological evolution, we continue to move forward. So, we may rage against frivolous change and wish to stop the clock, but it is futile. It is not driven by any forces except those which we create ourselves.

Yeah I never saw Sylvia Massey complain once and she's done the Q&A a few times.. Marcella Araica didn't seem to have a problem with her face plastered all over the Mix with the Masters ads either.. I always figured most folks were smart enough to look at the context of the use but apparently the movie Idiocracy is turning out to be more of a documentary than fiction every day.

Betting things to do in life than give two shits about whether it is called Gearslutz or Gearspace. At the end of the day it affects me about as much as a 300lbs man pretending he is a soldier that is going to change the world because he is in a militia, wears camo, and owns some type of 'tactical' rifle.

I am just really astonished at how many people actually give a shit either way.

First world problems, third world response. I guess people here have too little to do and much money and time on their hands.

I know this is just gang behavior in an echo chamber for the most part, it is still kind of sad. Makes me sad that I have to say this, but everyone needs learn to give less shits about shit that doesn't matter.
