it's pretty good but it could be better if it was much longer. 2 minutes is waaay too short for what it is... it could be so much better if there was more sonic variation, maybe going into a massive chorus with some drum loop and synth variation. The orchestral sounds are nice as well as the bass synth, but I honestly feel like it can have so much more depth in the sound. Maybe start off orchestral, and then breakdown into an electronic chorus or anything like that...

I also think you've over maximised your sound, it gets really messy around 1:32 because there is no room for the instruments to breath through.

It's a good track but I think it still needs to be completed...and mastered properly *yes*

I like it a lot Robbie and have favourited it on Soundcloud. A really nice piece of work with a great range of sounds.

What kit have you used to achieve this? I'd really like to know what the hardware/software set up is. It's really very good.

As for the name, I was really struggling to set up my Soundcloud account because all the bloody names had been taken!

don't worry Robbie, right now the 'our music' thread is kinda a bit slow and sucky...but we're going to make this place better I'm sure and get some active people to properly review and give feedback rather than have a bunch of music threads made with no one replying. And we'll be sure to get ACTIVE members reviewing rather than noob trolls who have no idea how to troll properly...

For now, most of the reviews for the album will be done by me, Carl and thisistheend. And I'm going to eventually have the very final say and put everything together properly anyway...

 

Robbie keep in mind that it is the weekend and usually there are less people online during that time. I really liked it, particularly the energy. I want to give you some feedback but I will do so at a later date, I just don't have the time at the moment to get detailed and I think you deserve that. My suggestion is to try to link up with fuad and ask him nicely if he wouldn't give you some feedback on the mixing aspect. He's really thorough and gives a lot of useful advice that could help you get this sounding it's best. Solid track mate.

 

Hi Robbie.

Nice with an orchestral style contribution. I think the basic theme and arrangement is good. This could work well with many typical action sequences or trailers.
If you have time maybe you could try to add some part that make it more personal, perhaps prolong the break @ 1:16 with some sonic variation like HK suggested.

There's a lot of work you could do with the mixing. Overall volume seems to be too high, sound is distorted for me. All the instruments feel too much in one place, drums don't have the power and definition they deserve. Same with high strings @ 0:35 and 1:32. I think a lot can be achieved here just by adjusting volume, EQ and pan on various channels.
