so about the rumours that the plugin is maybe not working after 30 days...
I have now fast forwarded my machine time to +1year,
and Nexus is still loading fine without any notice.
So fingers crossed about that.

 

I'm almost sure that it wouldnt stop working because of the dates of those files in REfx nexus

I was looking into refx website and it seens that Nexus 3.3.9 has been released in november 2020 (which happens to be the same date that the last update check was done)



Why did they released it only 5 after when 4 newer versions are avaliable? Now that chinese cracking chinese thing is making more sense

 

from what I understood from the chinese forum is that it was for sale

so the cracker didnt even intend for a public release m he may have found a bug that refx is likely aware of now and will patch

Check your PM for the download link.

Put the SVG files themselves in the folder listed below. If the folder structure doesn't exist, you need to make it.

On windows:
C:\Users\[YOUR Username]\AppData\Roaming\reFX\cloud\cache\images

On Mac:
~Library/Application Support/reFX/cloud/cache/images

 

Also, I don't know much about how does it contact Refx server

But couldn't we just monitor the data that is being sent to refx servers and the data that is being received and use it to create our own "network" that always gives the plugin the response its looking for?

Because if its still working it means that this can't be a dynamic response, it has to be a standard response that is given the same everytime the plugin asks for it, the user that the crack is using seens to be banned already (as someone said on this thread) so theres no way that refx has a protection for people trying to do this, mainly because this is a 6 months old version that is 4 versions outdated and seens to be working fine even after many months

hey, I have a question, could nexus 2 sounds be added to nexus 3 on mac? apparently you need the nexus 2 plugin to init the database or whatever first but nexus 2 doesn't exist for mac so I'm kinda confused.

could I also get this link? thanks!

 

Your first question:

You can just download a repack of nexus 2 with its content, then download the main nexus 3 archive with its content, and merge them. This should work. While I use windows, I didn't need to initialize anything with nexus 2, it was drag and drop (or merge and go in this case lol)

Little snich block outgoing connections on my mac! Guess where? Refx.com ! lulu app dosn't block this. Also I blocked these IP's from forum.. I don't trust this release...

also blocked Pusher.com when I load nexus in live 11...

@Tomekk2025 Why do you want to be online when creating music?
Have you bought into one of the apps that needs it?
I use Little Snitch too; you must have told it to block refx.com already. It would have asked you to accept or decline at least once, or you already set it.
But what you say about the difference between network filters/blockers is true. I have heard this before.
But it could be down to someone exploiting a weakness of lulu or your OS.
Or if someone has not had legit versions of LS or lulu this kind of thing has also happened.

 

Are you sure nexus is causing that? Pusher seems to be a service (a paid one) that developers can use to send notifications and real time features (think sharing and analytics). Perhaps it relates to file syncing ReFX does (bookmarks, likes, preferences), or to give "An update is available" alert?

Regardless, the service (pusher) itself seems legit, and wouldn't immediately be a cause for concern especially given you're the first that reports this URL specifically. I would guess others would have seen it pop up too?

Also, given that it's paid for the most part, it wouldn't be of much use to a cracker afaik... I doubt Chinese hackers would use this. If they're already going out of their way to crack Nexus 3, they'd probably not use a publicly available service that they'd need to pay for that is this obvious in what it does (given the sheer volume of users using this now) - And not to mention, they wouldn't want it tracing back to them.

haven't gotten that yet. blocked all the ips mentioned in this thread (a total of 5) and I haven't even gotten a popup for the refx or whatever. check the ips you've blocked. haven't gotten the pusher.com notification in little snitch but that seems like a dev API for pinging or notifications
